#ChhatrapatiSambhajinagar: Collaborative Initiative to Boost EV Testing Infrastructure in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar • A significant collaborative initiative has been launched in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to enhance the region's testing, validation, and homologation infrastructure for the electric vehicle (EV) sector, recognizing its rapid growth as a manufacturing hub. • The initiative is a joint effort between MAGIC (Marathwada Auto Cluster, Deogiri Electronics Cluster), an industry-supported incubator, and the World Resources Institute (WRI), aiming to benefit over 1,600 industries within the EV ecosystem. • Ashish Garde, director of MAGIC, explained that this project, implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (@UNEP) under @NITIAayog's guidance, is crucial for manufacturers to reduce costs, accelerate product development, and foster innovation. • The program will involve a thorough assessment of testing and validation needs across the EV product lifecycle, identifying gaps in current facilities and exploring opportunities for upgrades and new capabilities, particularly in areas like batteries and power electronics. • Currently, local manufacturers rely on distant facilities like ARAI in Pune for certification, leading to increased logistics costs and longer development cycles; this initiative seeks to establish local advanced testing infrastructure to mitigate these challenges. • With over Rs50,000 crore in proposed EV investments, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is becoming a prime destination for electric mobility, with major investments occurring at the Bidkin node of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), expected to create substantial employment opportunities.

For thousands of passengers from Marathwada, the 17629/17630 Nanded-Pune and 01487/01488 Harangul-Pune Daily Express trains are vital lifelines for work, education & healthcare. From 26 Jan 2026, the Railways have proposed terminating these services at Hadapsar instead of Pune Junction. The train arrives at 4:15 AM at Hadapsar, when no public transport is available, causing severe hardship, especially to students and workers. Requesting Hon.
