🌍 Africa’s Voice in the 8th Replenishment of the Global Fund At an event hosted by #SouthAfrica and the #UnitedKingdom , Africa’s leadership and essential role in ensuring the success of the 8th Replenishment of the Global Fund was spotlighted. @Dr_JeanKaseya called for bold reforms and sustainable African financing: 🗣️ “We are proud Africans. But with a 70% reduction in ODA, our countries must raise more funds from within. We need reforms to ensure our Ministers know what partners bring to the table. We also need sustainable solutions rooted in Africa.” He underscored: ✅ The importance of strong leadership from South Africa and the UK in the replenishment effort. ✅ The need to maintain U.S. funding, stressing the joint advocacy efforts by @AfricaCDC and @GlobalFund . ✅ That the Global Fund supports health systems, not just disease-specific programs vital in a context where Africa faces nearly one outbreak per day. #GlobalFundReplenishment #HealthSystems #DomesticFinancing #AfricanLeadership #GlobalHealth
