My Plex library is of the highest quality possible. Breaking Bad and GoT 4(4k) Blu Ray remuxes are probably ~4tb alone. I have family photos/pictures of me dating back to in vitro (dead serious). I've been taking pictures since a 1.3mp Kodak digital camera was considered new. I'm now leaning into making content even harder than ever, for both my business and my personal interests. This is about another 4tb. Im constantly ingesting content from at minimum 2 different cameras, up to like 6. Basically, it exists to store media files so I don't need to pay subscriptions for streaming or cloud storage. Soon it will also do my home security cameras.

@TheManlet_King My '22 Prius is basically 5 years old and has 140k miles. Its chock full of electronics despite being the base model, but it has nothing I'd expect to break and its only cost me $1400 in maintenance in 43k miles, most of that being tires.

@TheManlet_King I only feel this is true on certain makes. Most cars are so much more reliable than cars of yesteryear, millennial and younger cant even comprehend it. But yea I'm sure a 2017 F150 platinum is going to have stuff fail more than an '87 would.

When these cars came out (20+ years ago) you could buy a 20+ year old car for $500. So used cars are 10x the price they used to be. Are wages up 10x since 2005?

also countries in europe are OLD. our houses are often 50+ years old. and they're built in solid brick, not 2 sheets of plywood you can easily cut to install central AC. so the process is REALLY expensive and harduous

usamericans act like no european has ever thought of the concept of ac before but the reason why we don't have any is because we DIDN'T NEED IT UNTIL LIKE 10 YEARS AGO. the hottest it ever got in summer was like 30ºC. the infrastructure just hasn't kept up with climate change
