Everything you need to connect and build on Canton Network

The convergence between institutional finance and the Ethereum ecosystem is here. #CantonLexicon x @zenithfdn ⚡ Today's term: EVM/SVM Applications on Canton Two heavyweights in blockchain's future: → Ethereum - vibrant ecosystem, massive liquidity, millions of developers → @CantonNetwork - privacy-first, institutional-grade, built for real-world assets Zenith connects them. By introducing Zenith Stack - a native Ethereum execution environment integrated with Canton - developers can deploy unmodified Solidity apps that atomically interact with Canton's institutional infrastructure. No Daml required. MetaMask. Hardhat. ERC standards. All work as expected. The only difference? Your app now settles on the world's most trusted institutional blockchain. The result: → Ethereum/Solana devs can migrate, extend, or build directly on Canton → Institutions get flexible VM choice without sacrificing privacy, atomic finality, or regulatory alignment → $160B+ in DeFi liquidity and global stablecoin activity - now within institutional-grade rails Canton's Polyglot vision, realized. 🔓 In simple words: Your Ethereum app, your tools, your code - now settling with privacy that public chains simply can't offer. And we at @IntellectEU and Catalyst Blockchain Manager are proud to support Zenith’s participation on Canton from the infrastructure side. How can infrastructure be shared across organizations without increasing risk exposure? 🏦 Our latest whitepaper examines Daml and Canton as a trust layer for regulated financial infrastructure, with a focus on architecture and security.

How @CantonNetwork aims to become the "backbone" of global finance? The network, developed by @digitalasset, already connects numerous financial institutions (@GoldmanSachs, @BNYglobal, @BNPParibas, @EuroclearGroup, @The_DTCC, etc.) and the numbers are starting to speak for themselves. It already processes, via @Broadridge's interbank repo, close to $400 billion per day. A massive figure for blockchain, but still "small" compared to TradFi. 👉 The "walled gardens" problem is finally being addressed For years, each bank built its own DLT infrastructure in isolation. Result: non-functional silos. Canton's approach was the opposite: first create the applications, ensure their real utility, then launch the connection layer. "Unlike many projects that write a white paper, raise funds, then look for clients, we did the opposite," explains @LetortSimon, in charge of strategy at @digitalasset, during an interview with @TheBigWhale_ "We first created the 'Layers 2' (the banking applications), made sure they had real utility, and only then did we launch the 'Layer 1' to connect them together, before listing the coin." 👉 Privacy: choosing technical pragmatism Unlike Ethereum where each node replicates the entire blockchain, Canton operates in segmented peer-to-peer fashion. "A stablecoin issued on Canton can be configured so that transactions are only visible to the buyer, seller, and issuer — not to the entire network," adds Simon Letort. 👉 Top-down adoption strategy To succeed, Canton applied the nightclub strategy: filter the entrance to attract the elite. "We convinced the major players in the right order: first the banks, then the asset managers and crypto market makers. That naturally attracts the Prime Brokers," emphasizes Simon Letort. "Today, we're integrating the major custodians." 👉 Designed for banks, even those that don't want to touch crypto The Basel III constraint: Canton has provided a "tokenless" option, allowing transaction fees to be paid in fiat currency via a service provider. 👉 What's the immediate benefit? The killer argument isn't just instant delivery-versus-payment. It's the optimization of cash and collateral on multi-leg operations (arbitrages, spreads). Being able to synchronize both legs of a cross-border trade drastically reduces funding costs related to time zone differences. Ethereum will likely remain the settlement layer for DeFi. But for heavy, auditable, and compliant finance, Canton is building rails that don't seek to be "censorship resistant," but "production grade."
