We don't have a tax problem in my humble view.
Taxes have never been the issue.
The main issues according to me are:
1. Not everyone is paying their fair share so those that are within reach get squeezed more.
2. Service delivery is not commensurante to the tax we are paying.
3. Most importantly, way too much leakage through thievery and thuggery that essentially means we work to pay the thieves.

Update on Irene: thank you all that contributed towards Irene’s treatment. We received UGX 810,000 and it has been spent as 👇. I was about to come back to you to ask for more but Irene has given up on life. She escaped from the hospital and when @yubdenis1 called and requested her to return because the doctors say she won’t survive for long without treatment, her and her family first lied that she was returning but they later refused. Irene is so depressed and thinks dying is better. This is the condition she is in (and she is not pregnant). I don’t know if there’s anything more we can do. Also, please join me to thank @yubdenis1. This guy has dedicated his life to humanity, I don’t think he has even rested since Jan.

After a lengthy back and forth legal battle, Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s court has this morning granted bail to John Mary Ssebuwufu.
He was initially abducted on 14th January, held in incommunicado detention for a month, and then eventually produced in court which remanded him.
We shall continue to relentlessly pursue the freedom of all political prisoners, and the freedom of our Country Uganda.

But here’s the contradiction — she remains the most preferred candidate among @NRMOnline MPs and CEC already endorsed her. So the question is: Who are these Mps representing? Because if the public clearly leans one way, and those in power move in the complete opposite direction, then something is fundamentally wrong. It simply confirms what many Ugandans already believe that a number of MPs no longer represent citizens, but party interests and personal survival. So are we really choosing leaders… or decisions are already made for us behind closed doors? This isn't just about one position, it’s about the state of our so-called democracy.
