I think my mother is dying. We invoked #Hospice yesterday. Her time is coming. I regret not being a better caregiver & steward. I did all I could with my limitations, which affected me more than I care to admit. She deserved so much better. I will miss her. I've missed her for over 6 years thanks to #dementia. When she goes, large pieces of me will die as well. 2023=the year of loss & death.

@jonathanstea These broad stroke statements can be the most damaging (and dangerous) of all. People make definitive statements, without any awareness of the complexity and individual needs of humans.

Sometimes diet and exercise changes are insufficient on their own to address the complexity and gravity of depressive and anxiety disorders. Wellness grifters who promote lifestyle changes as a cure-all not only expose their poor mental health literacy, they alienate patients.

Today on my run up through Central Park in Harlem I saw four teenagers smoking weed. As I passed them I shouted in a firm but friendly voice: "Smells like failure!" and kept going. I said it as an act of love, honestly. I hope that at some point one of them might think about it.

@life_is_art___ @Irishbrat1966 A doctor who saw me before my disability hearing noted on my chart, in capital letters, in several places…”DEPRESSION” He did bloodwork and no other diagnostics. Fortunately, another doc did a proper work up, and accurately documented my condition….1/2

Have any of you had a personality disorder diagnosis put in your chart and then were treated like trash by med pros? Is this a thing!?
