keeping quiet, saying nothing, becomes as political an act as speaking out. There's no innocence. Either way, you're accountable.

ANOTHER CONVICTED ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVIST WROTE THIS LETTER AND TOLD ME TO SHARE IT WITH UGANDANS AND THE WORLD.
AM KEISHA ALI
One of Eight environmental, climate and human rights activists that has been convicted unlawfully and unjustified.
I condemn this conviction as very unlawful and injustice procedure of court and unconstitutionaly according to the constitution of the republic of this country under article 17 clause B that state that "its a duty of every citizen of Uganda to respect and protect the right and freedoms of others and article 17 cause J states that "its a duty of every citizen of the republic of Uganda to create and protect a clean and healthy environment"
Article 39 of the constitution of this country give us a mandatory right to a clean and healthy environment. All these articles of the constitution of this country give us freedom and right to protect our environment and to respect the rights of others.
As s citizen of the republic of Uganda, article 29 of the constitution give us a mandatory right to assemble and to demonstrate together with others peacefully and unarmed and to petition.
My message to my fellow activists is that being an activist is not a crime and nobody should get scared and be threatened because we are in the prison and I believe one day one time we shall get justice.
Its our right to fight for democracy, against corruption and injustice and for our rights and liberty.
Liberty is crucial ina free and democratic society as breath is to life, liberty is the very essence of freedom and democracy.
WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER
KEISHA ALI

After 3 years of brutal conflict in Sudan, we need urgent action to end the death, the suffering, and the use of rape as a weapon of war. As we meet in Berlin for the Sudan conference today, the world’s worst humanitarian crisis must no longer be ignored.

@hillarytaylorvi Given your consistent attack on BW, I am beginning to get convinced that @NUP_Ug must be a very tolerant party if you are still a member. However I can only confirm this if it can continue to tolerate this when you are in Uganda. Now it may consider your attacks inconsequential!

It's a reminder that oppression aren't just about physical violence, but also about erasing identities and cultures.

@UNHumanRights @volker_turk It's deeply troubling when regime uses derogatory language like "dogs" to refer to a group of people, the Baganda, especially when they have historically taken their land, culture & autonomy #StoptribalismagaistBaganda @IntlCrimCourt @UKParliament @USEmbassyUganda @EUCouncil @UN
