Fun Fact: Research found that there are brain and genetic differences in transgender individuals. This suggests trans identities are more than just “feelings”, there’s a biological and genetic component. Conversion therapy doesn’t work because it literally goes against biology.

I finished 4th overall at my local parkrun this morning, 1st female. There were 15 males between me and the next female. The numbers don't lie, allowing biological males into the female category isn't fair and it certainly isn't fun. #SaveWomensSports #makeparkrunfairforall

For example in a bathroom, if they don't just do normal bathroom stuff, stay around too long or what have you, they're clearly not up too good (as would be the case for anyone).

When Kevin Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting Anthony Rapp, he announced that he was gay. He was hugely criticised for seemingly using his sexuality to try and distract from the accusations. This police officer, who spoke “a lot about the powers he had” in the Met as a special constable, acted male in 2018, acted male in the five years of their “on-off relationship”, and acted male during most of the trial. It was only during the sentencing that they transitioned. Most trans people spend ages transitioning. Most doctors recommend living in their affirmed gender for at least three months to over a year before starting hormone therapy - to ensure confidence in their decision. That’s self identification, and that’s not what appears to have happened here. I don’t think most people realise that - why would they? This person may be transgender and a danger to women, but they are not a danger to women *because* they are trans. “The key point is that you are a very significant risk to women,” Judge Cooper said. “This is not predicated on your trans status, but on your criminal status.” I feel sorry for the victims, for women, for the trans community that has to put up with this, and for anyone who feels unsafe when they may have only seen the headline.

Stephen Fry warns about a “rising tide of transphobia”. He says it’s being used as “a kind of lever” to open up “all kinds of horror”. I'm guessing he doesn't think women being compelled to undress in front of men - to affirm the identities of males who say they are women - is also 'horror'?

If this Is what you mean by undermining trans rights then in the case of these competing rights you are correct that I have chosen women’s rights.

This is absolutely tragic. But very sadly, the wrong people are being blamed.

The comments from Tom are an interesting window into how confirmation bias operates in real time. He seems oblivious to, or ignorant of, the implications of the SC judgment. This now transcends party politics. The only thing that can undo a SC judgment is another SC judgment or an Act of Parliament. The Greens - in the unlikely event they achieve power - will have to face that, will have to propose and push through the necessary legislation which we will, of course, fight at every turn. This will be a little more difficult than making videos for social media and will require more than vibz and feels. My worries that my retirement would be dull are unfounded. I suspect we are all going to be living in interesting times.

@FieldRikfield @BevJacksonAuth For one, try the Heritage Foundation. Their president, Kevin Roberts, recently said they want to ban trans healthcare completely for both kids and adults. If that's not wiping out, I don't know what is.

@marycatedelvey We have to take these statistics with a grain of salt, given how heavily skewed they are by men who never said they were transgender until a bunch of useful idiots went and declared it a civil right for imprisoned sex offenders to be put in prison with biological women.
