⚠️WARNING: This post describes a fatal mass casualty crash. At least four people were killed and 11 others injured after an alleged street racer being chased by police lost control of his car and slammed into a packed bar in Tampa, Florida. The tragedy occurred just before 1 a.m. at Bradley's bar on 7th Avenue. Police identified the driver as Silas Sampson, 22. According to police, an air unit first spotted Sampson driving recklessly at high speeds. Officers began a pursuit, which continued into downtown Tampa. Police attempted a PIT maneuver (a tactical maneuver to stop a car), but Sampson evaded it. He continued driving at high speed, lost control, and crashed into the bar, hitting more than a dozen people who were on the patio. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, and a fourth died at the hospital. One of the 11 injured remains in critical condition.
