Ministers in @ukhomeoffice @ShabanaMahmood @LabourSJ @mhclg @SteveReedMP @Miatsf need to act on our suggestion via @AppgBritSikhs in October 2024 of using anonymised person-level data from the Census to accurately identity the ethnicity and religion of all victims of reported hate crime. Anti-Sikh hate crimes are deliberately hidden under racially aggravated hate crimes and elsewhere. We believe the analysis that should have been carried out since the suggestion 6 months ago will show the actual number of Anti-Sikh hate crimes is at least 20 times higher than officially reported by @ukhomeoffice and surprisingly may be greater in number than antisemitic hate crimes due to the size of the Sikh community and our visible identity.
