We opted to take @Mta #NYCbus #mtabus home frome school today, rather than dodge needles on the sidewalk, but our ride was not as pleasant at hoped for. This bus had a used needle by the exit door and I had to warn several people who nearly stepped on it. W. Bound M102 5923/ 86X

Great to be in our Overland Park, Kansas campus today for a small get-together to celebrate the Holidays! And #ChiefsNation was on fully display throughout Kansas City today too! Looking forward to spending some Holiday time with our Frisco, Texas campus next Friday! 🎅

Text from my 11 year old child on the way to school this morning. Things like this did not happen prior to the safe injection site opening. These sites cause harm to children and others who don't use illicit substances!

@NYSecofState Good turnout last night at the meeting to decide which projects gets part of the $10 million. Clearly, the community voted against the OnPoint project. No one wants that!!!

1. Last week, @Target announced it was closing 9 stores due to theft, generating an avalanche of credulous coverage from nearly every major media outlet One thing that was missing from all these stories: DATA So Popular Information tracked it down 🧵

@JuddLegum @Target Number of *reported* thefts does not reveal the total monetary loss. I suspect that losses from the theft is what played a part in the decision. This isn't Target's fault, the state of NYC's judicial system is.

@WriteWendy @CrimeInNYC The police are a big part of the problem, they continue to discourage victims from filing reports on smaller crimes. We as citizens must push back, record your encounter with the police and insist on filing a report. We have to demand change!

Dear @CrimeInNYC : This is surreal. 350 pm. E14th & 3rd outside Duane Reade. This girl states she too got punched in the face by an unhinged man in broad daylight. Ironically, this happened a few hours after she had seen the video of the 19 yr old on W26th & 6th Ave. With the help of the Duane Reade manager & security, she called the police. Despite video surveillance, the police fear there is little they can do. #NYC

This is what normalizing IV drug use looks like. Our kids are exposed to this daily. We are subsidizing addiction when we should be subsidizing recovery from addiction. Helping someone get their drug fix "safely" so they don't die immediately is simply postponing their death.

@DianaAyalaNYC @NYCMayor @NYCHealthCommr We didn't have so many needles on the streets and playgrounds prior to OnPoint safe injection site that hands out needles like candy. Yet the promote themselves as "harm reduction" while inflicting harm on community and children. Harm reduction is harming children!

Two children in my district with needle stick injury after coming in contact with needle at local playground. I have repeatedly called out for help. Our calls fell on deaf ears. So we created a syringe buy back program that has still not been created @NYCMayor @NYCHealthCommr

🚨SCOOP: OnpointNYC has used $3.4M of our tax dollars to operate a completely illegal safe injection site for SIX YEARS. Where was the government oversight? Where was Comptroller Scott Stringer?

@warhol518 @CrimeInNYC @united_harlem Yes, I pass by in the afternoons walking my kids home from school, same story. Generally there is more activity in the mornings, but also a wave in the early evenings around dinner time. Just about anywhere is the 116-117, Park/Lex area you're going to see it.

@chiladtate @CrimeInNYC @united_harlem Chad, Part of the reason is the time of day and how the body processes the drug, users need it first thing in the morning. But the reality here is that there are so many people out on the street using that we see at least one nearly each time we go out.

@CrimeInNYC @HarlemVoice @united_harlem I don’t know about now , but back in the heyday of the LES “ spots “ would have limited time window they sold . I remember seeing junkies lining up outside “ laundromat “ on 7th between B/C. So you’re chance if seeing multiple people shooting up on the street also increased .
