This was after a blow-up on the train. There was another blow-up this morning. We were late for school today. Japan has proven to be a challenging place for our young family. We are told no, to be quiet, and that we cannot be here multiple times every day. It sucks to constantly feel so unwelcome—that our sheer presence is such a burden on others just because we have young children with us. This experience will make our family stronger. Knowing that helps even in the most difficult moments. There's been a lot of them.

This guy saw Canadians struggling to get ahead and decided the real problem was their RRSPs and TFSAs. They’re not loopholes. They’re some of the last decent tools regular Canadians have to build wealth. Taxing savings while complaining about inequality is peak backwards thinking.

Shopify is a Canadian company employing Canadians, paying Canadian taxes, and helping Canadian entrepreneurs grow. Revenue from U.S. customers is called exports. That’s how Canada gets richer. By this logic, every Canadian company selling into America should be boycotted. Absurd. Wanting Canadian champions to stay small is loser thinking. Canada needs more global winners, not fewer.

Looking at your Canadian market share, I would be laughing as well. Shopify revenue by country (FY 2024) Shopify reported total revenue of USD $8.88 billion in 2024. It’s time to add Shopify to our national boycotts. It is a supporter of selling out to America. To my European followers as well take note boycott shopify. Canadian companies that participate with America will face the same consequences as American companies.

The biggest issue in Canada - US economic relations in brain drain. The Bank of Canada found it accounts for 75% of the gap in GDP per capita and 66% of the labour productivity gap. The tech industry is at the center of this with 66% of Canadian founders leaving Canada. Why then is there nobody from our industry on the Canada-US economic relations advisory committee whose purpose is to, "serve as a forum for expertise and strategy on all aspects of the Canada-U.S. economic relationship." If we keep over indexing on the advice of people who built the 20th century economy, we will never build a competitive 21st century economy.
