Earlier today, I conducted thorough research on how several African governments have changed over time. Below is a summary of key uprisings and political transitions; 1. Burkina Faso Uprising in 2014 Causes for the uprising. The uprising began when President Blaise Compaoré attempted to amend the constitution to extend his 27-year rule. What Happened: >Massive protests erupted across the country. >Demonstrators eventually stormed the Parliament building forcing President Compaoré to flee the country. 2. Tunisia Revolution between 2010–2011 Caused by; >High unemployment. >Police brutality and harassment. >Rising food prices. >Lack of political freedoms. Triggered by; The revolution was sparked by Mohamed Bouazizi a street vendor who set himself on fire after suffering police humiliation and the confiscation of his goods. Outcome: Bouazizi’s act ignited nationwide protests, eventually forcing President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to flee the country in January 2011. 3. Egyptian Revolution in 2011 Causes: >30 years of President Hosni Mubarak’s authoritarian rule. >Widespread police brutality. >Corruption and deepening poverty. >High youth unemployment. Millions of Egyptians gathered in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, mobilized largely through social media. After 18 days of mass demonstrations, President Mubarak resigned. 4.The upcoming Ugandan 🇺🇬revolution (2025-2026) What will cause the revolution. >Police Brutality and harassment. >Corruption and high taxation. >Vote rigging and election violence by security forces. >Abductions and increased political prisoners. >Youth unemployment. Internet shutdown. The will be Outcomes. Millions of Ugandans ( students, employees, unemployed youths ) will march to state house nakasero leading to the downfall of the government.

It is very sad that the level of brainwash and propaganda in Uganda has reached the point that people do not even read things anymore. The first reaction to something they don’t like is abuse towards the other person. The real message flies over their heads. If you look at the history, most dictator regimes have used this tactic to separate people and control them in the process. All of you that abuse us who speak in questions, us who speak in the language of freedom, are only losing out yourselves. You go home and suffer in silence with no one to speak out for you. Even though you don’t agree with me. Sit down and truly ask yourself if what i’m saying makes sense. If it doesn’t make sense. Then you can go your merry way, instead of attacking someone’s livelihood because I’m speaking not to you but to the ones oppressing you. You matter to me. So when you say derogatory things unrelated to what I’m tweeting, I feel not for myself but for you who has missed out on learning something new about the country you’re living in.

The regime spent the whole Tuesday night demobilizing the people of Kazo and Kiruhura districts in a bid to scare them away from attending our rallies. We were informed by locals that several of our coordinators were dumped in police cells, our posters torn, and RDCs preached a message of fear and intimidation to the people. As if that was not enough even as we drove to the venues, we encountered mobilized gangs wearing yellow T-shirts and carrying sticks and stones to launch attacks at us. These gangs were under the tight guard of the regime police, the absurdity. Getting to Kazo too was also a struggle on its own. We encountered freshly graded roads that had heaps of soils in the middle and dangerously drug trenches aimed at slowing our speed. But we did not relent and still got to the venues. For Kiruhura district, the people informed us that they were asked by the regime police officials to close their shops and stay at home for their own ‘safety’. But regardless of all this, we have been able to successfully conclude our campaign. The struggle to liberate Uganda will have all sorts of challenges but we shall thrive with perseverance. #ANewUgandaNow #ProtestVote2026 #PeoplePowerOurPower

After failing to demobilize people from waving at us on the roadside as has been the norm wherever we have been, the criminal regime has resorted to arming vigilante groups with sticks to provoke and launch attacks at us. This is what just happened in Sanga town. Utterly shameful! #FreeUgandaNow

On 26 October 2025, Museveni formally received military equipment valued at US$53 million from the Russian Federation. The donation includes items such as obstacle-clearing vehicles (based on T-55 tank hulls with bulldozer blades),and other items. Unfortunately for us, Africans and Ugandans, these weapons will not be used to “keep peace”. They will be used to wage war against the people of Tanzania, Sudan, the Congo and most of all at home in Uganda. These weapons will be used to support other dictators and oppressors who want to further entrench their control in their countries, killing many many civilians in the process. In Tanzania, they are currently being used for violence against the youth as they speak up for their rights in protest resulting in the death of over 700 PEOPLE! I am praying for my fellow youth in Tanzania. God is with you, you are fighting for the right cause. I admire your resilience and I hope to the core of my soul that Ugandans can love themselves enough to fight for what is right. The benefits outweigh any sort of suffering these tyrants can put us through. They can’t kill all of us.

Kadingo @HEBobiwine’ s visit to Obote’s grave is nothing but a calculated move to seek public sympathy because if he truly understood Uganda’s history, he’d know that Obote’s legacy remains a painful reminder of betrayal & suffering for the Baganda, not something to romanticize😏

URGENT CALL FOR JUSTICE AND HUMANITY AT MAKERERE UNIVERSITY I am writing with deep concern and outrage following the violent attacks on LGBTQI students at Makerere University. These acts of brutality have no place in an institution of higher learning or in any civilized society. To the perpetrators and bystanders: Violence against another human being based on who they love is not justice—it is hatred. It is not tradition—it is cruelty. And it is not strength—it is profound weakness masked as false righteousness. LGBTQI individuals are not asking for special treatment. They are demanding what every human being deserves: the right to exist, to learn, to love, and to pursue their dreams without fear of violence. These are not Western values—these are human values. Love is not imported; it exists in every culture, every community, and every corner of our world. To our LGBTQI siblings at Makerere: You are not alone. Your courage to live authentically in the face of violence is a testament to the unbreakable human spirit. Your identities are valid, your lives matter, and your presence enriches our community. To the Makerere University administration: Silence is complicity. We demand immediate action—investigations into these attacks, protection for vulnerable students, and concrete measures to ensure this never happens again. Education should liberate minds, not harbor violence. To everyone reading this: If you believe in humanity, if you believe in dignity, if you believe that no student should fear for their safety simply because of who they are—then stand with us. Speak up. Homophobia thrives in silence. Love is not a crime. Being yourself is not a provocation. Seeking education is not a privilege reserved only for some. We demand justice. We demand accountability. We demand a future where every student at Makerere University can walk freely without fear. @ChimpReports @MubeziLuwaga @FERDINANDIUS @MCFMakerere @Amumpaire_ @AGYHRD1 @AnnahAshaba @JTumwesigye @Faizafabz @lubega_nsamba @JoshuaLutaaya__ @rodneyrugyema @SsekandiBedan @MakGuildLeague @huripec @ComplexHall @MathiasSsemanda @MakGuild @MaKCEES @MakerereIGDS @MakerereGMD @MakerereCHUSS @MakerereAR @SOEmakerere @SOEmakerere @MakerereCHS @MaserukaRobert @MakCoBAMS @ssentamu_cj @MakCAES @MakerereNews @DOS_Makerere @drstellanyanzi @Ms_highsociety @AnnahAshaba @Makerere @MitchellHallMAK @hillarytaylorvi @martinssempa

This young man embodies true passion for leadership and a deep sense of patriotism. Like all of us, he may have his flaws, but they’re only human. One thing I’m certain of is that he will stand firm and offer the necessary resistance on the floor of Parliament. That’s exactly the kind of courage and conviction we need. @MusiriDavid is my candidate for Makindye West.
