@ohcapideas @rajuvamsi007 Look at the $$/kg to orbit for all the rockets. Even if Blue Origin gets going at scale, it will be competing with Falcon9 in terms of its economics. By then, Starship will be another 75% cheaper. They have no competition for the foreseeable future.

I feel like even if you buy into the growth stories of SpaceX, you can’t make the math work. value xAI at 15x forward sales = $55B Starlink at 50x earnings = maybe $180B Launch at 25x revenue = maybe around $100B Round up a little even and you’re at $350B. I know this isn’t original. I haven’t seen many others try to put a reasonable value on SpaceX, but just about everyone seems to agree it’s expensive. I will say that despite Tesla always seeming crazy expensive too, I probably never expected it to grow into a company as big as it is. So, at a minimum I probably wouldn’t bet against Musk. But this is stil a ridiculous valuation.
Ohio Capital Ideas@ohcapideas

@Stonefoxcapital Even if you’re generous and give them $500B, it implies the rest of the business is worth over $1T, which is X and the launch business. Math just doesn’t work.

The Day 3 RB Mirage Recent hits like Kyren Williams and Chase Brown has people reaching for day 3 RBs in this weak rookie draft class. Now every Day 3 RB with a pulse gets hyped up as a potential league-winner. Here's my dynasty breakdown of every day 3 RB in this class. 🔽

Scariest video I've watched this week America's next generation actively booing the most transformative technology our species has ever seen In China grandmas line up to get OpenClaw installed In America, supposedly our most educated people BOO even the mention of AI The west simply does not stand a chance if this continues We have a massive AI marketing problem in this country and nobody is doing anything to fix it Tomorrow Meta will announce 8,000 layoffs. They will blame it completely on AI They won't blame it on their irresponsible hiring in 2021 or extended elevated rates or horrible market conditions or bad inflation No, in order to not tank their stock, they'll blame it on AI College students will read that and learn to HATE the technology They'll protest outside datacenters holding ridiculous signs that say "SAVE OUR WATER NO MORE DATACENTERS" Politicians will see this and run on blocking data centers just to get a few votes All of it will be a cycle that leads to America losing to China This should be a warning sign to all frontier labs and CEOs: messaging matters. And if your messaging doesn't change the West is cooked
This Week in AI@ThisWeeknAI

3 commencement speakers were booed at the mention of Artificial Intelligence (Video) 1. Eric Schmidt, Google CEO 2. Scott Borchetta, Big Machine Records CEO 3. Gloria Caulfield, Tavistock Development VP

@JWeinbachNBA Leaving MN with Rudy, Naz, Giannis, 2 more 7fters they drafted in 2025 and 0 draft cap. That would be an interesting roster construction and a lot of work left to do to find a PG.

Minnesota’s potential trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo: Jaden McDaniels Julius Randle No. 28 overall pick 2033 first-round pick 2028 first-round pick swap In this proposal, McDaniels would likely be flipped elsewhere for multiple first-round picks and additional assets.

so lighter listed spacex about two weeks ago and there was no talk on ct about it but now trade is listing spacex and its the entire talk of ct. obv shoku has incredible motion, but what did lighter do wrong with their listing to not get any more attention from listing? genuinely curious for ppls opinions/thoughts here liquidity will be mentioned a lot but it’s a bit of a chicken and egg thing. so outside of that - what did they NOT do to get more mindshare two weeks ago?

@TPPSkol @Charley_Walters @PioneerPress Kwesi was extended and fired before he even got to the new money portion of his contract. You have to cut or trade expensive players because of cap not to sell team. What’s next, they signed Kyler bc he’s on a vet minimum?

"It’s beginning to look as if Vikings ownership now could be mirroring Twins ownership, which has sought to sell its team." Writes @Charley_Walters from @PioneerPress, he continues... "If the Wilfs, who curiously still haven’t named a permanent general manager since firing Kwesi Adofo-Mensah last January, were to sell the Vikings today, they could get between $8 billion and $9 billion." Walters cites slashing payroll with the cuts of Allen and Hargrave as well as the trade of Greenard as one reason they may be prepping for a sale. Add into it the draft picks and potential to replace higher priced veterans like Brian O'Neill and the general manager who has yet to be named, Walters alludes to the Vikings walking a similar line to former owner Red McCombs and current ownership of the Twins.

It just seems so clear to me that Greenard is gonna have like 14 sacks and be awesome for the Eagles this year. Even though the sacks weren't there last year, he's such a consistent quick pressure creator — absolutely deserving of 25M per year, in my opinion.

Gut reaction is that I simply do not like the Jonathan Greenard trade. I don't like trading your best defensive player when you want to contend this season. I don't like the return of two late-third-round picks. I don't like sending him to an NFC powerhouse. I would've much rather just given him the raise.

@Fiskantes "a regulated fund that holds stakes in promising private companies." It's not the main story but it feels off. A fund of funds with layers of VC fees/carry baked in and the retail investor probably only sees the top line 2.5% management fees and think they are getting a deal.

@gemchange_ltd @dragosilinca I believe Fundrise $VCX is a far superior vehicle for exposure to these types of companies but with a massive caveat that its currently trading at 400% to NAV, will likely bleed back to par when shares unlock but investing today would be terrible.

depends what you actually want AI exposure? just buy NVDA/MSFT/GOOGL. no 3.5% drag, no 10yr lockup. they're capturing the actual value anyway private tech beta w/o accreditation? Fundrise Innovation Fund. cheaper, less AI-concentrated, more honest about what it is. still mid but mid-er actually want VC? get accredited ($200k income or $1M net worth ex-home), then syndicate on AngelList directly. pick 15+ deals, small checks. at least you skip the wrapper fees writing under 10 bags total? don't do VC. power law needs 20+ positions to work, and fees eat you alive at small size good VC deals are oversubscribed by people with capital + relationships. anything marketing "democratized access" is selling you scraps with extra fees stacked on top

ok so everyone on here is hyping USVC like it's the second coming of VC access for retail. let me ruin it real quick the pitch: 1% fee, 0% carry, $500 min, back the next OpenAI before it's obvious the reality, from their own prospectus: gross expense ratio is 3.61%. the "no carry" is cope - it's a fund-of-funds, so the underlying VC funds still charge 2/20 and you pay it. they just bury it under "acquired fund fees." the 2.5% rate is a temp waiver that expires Oct 2026 "before it's obvious" - the portfolio is xAI (20% weight, already acquired by SpaceX), OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel, Crusor. these are the most obvious names in tech. your uber driver knows them 44% of the fund is deployed. rest sits in cash charging you fees liquidity: no public listing. exit = quarterly tender offers, max 5% NAV, board discretion, can be cancelled. In 2029 when AI craters and everyone wants out, guess what gets capped first Ankur is a solid operator but has never returned a VC fund. Vibe I and II are both unrealized. zero '40 Act experience. solo PM with Naval as nominal chairman the comp is DXYZ - retail private tech fund that traded 900% over NAV at launch. same playbook, different wrapper this isn't access, more like cosplay access. marketing is A+, the actual deal is mid at best

I find it comical that because one “Mtt player” is illiquid and can’t pay his debts, now all mtt players are unprofitable. I read today that mtt players earn about as much as McDonald employees I can almost guarantee that DP’s struggling isn’t from his inability to be profitable at poker, and more to do with other gambling /investing.
