There is growing support for limiting cell phones in schools. We have one critical mission: keep students focused on the curriculum and engaged in the classroom.

I suspect this is why @sflecce and @tdsb have resisted calls to monitor air quality in schools. IAQ was already an issue in Ontario public schools pre-pandemic. We know that #CovidIsAirborne. When will politicians act to help keep kids and staff safe?

Recently I went up to my son's maths class to put a DIY filter in there. This cO2 reading was at 3.51pm. So 20 minutes after all the kids had left. How many people know that there is risk in an empty room. It's been 4years. Where is public health? #cleanair

Remember your tax $$$ is being used so that the MSM in Canada can lie to you everyday and spread misinformation and disinformation. I find it quite amusing that the far extreme lefties in this country are trying to spin what happened with the Rebel News reporter yesterday. What you witnessed yesterday with the reporter happened 80 years ago in Nazi Germany. This is also what happens when your politicians refuse to be held to accountability and only answer questions from the media they paid off. This isn’t politics it’s called theatre. They are following a script and that script is used to brainwash the people into believing that their governments are acting in the best interests of their people. Which in Canada’s case couldn’t be farther from the truth.

@j_pagsy We have a few of those too, and used them serially recently when one of the kids had some symptoms. Every family should have a few of these at home!

I met a most unlucky patient the other day. He got his C19 booster (yay) but not the Flu shot. A family member came down with Flu A over Christmas (which we knew because we PCR test nearly everyone who comes to see us), and passed it on, causing fairly rapid onset symptoms and hypoxia, and they needed a hospital admission for oxygen therapy. A lot of people confuse 'getting the flu' or 'stomach flu' to Flu (with a capital letter). There's a big difference! Most minor cold symptoms are caused by mostly harmless viruses like rhinovirus, adenovirus. Mostly mild, though some people, especially elderly and small children can get hit harder. Influenza (Flu), like C19, is an entirely different beast, and causes, for many, severe body aches, high fevers, weakness, lethargy for days, what we call a Influenza-Like Illness (ILI). It can strike down even young and healthy people, and it is surging at the moment as part of its regular seasonal pattern. Be careful out there, avoid spreading it to others, get your Flu shot if you haven't already (which provides significant but not complete protection from severe illness), and seek antivirals if you're sick (Tamiflu).

UPDATE: Yesterday the Canadian Independent brought you the exclusive story of an Ontario man struggling for several months to get surgery to remove a gaping hole on the side of his face and tonight we were advised the hospital called and that surgery will happen next Friday. The Canadian Independent will continue to monitor this story and bring any further updates as they come. You can watch the story at the link below. x.com/canindependent…

Well it's clear socialist healthcare doesn't work. Time to move to full privatization. In a tax funded model there is a limited amount of resources and so people have to wait. Not enough resources to go around. But in a private system healthcare is the product. No one waits because there is money to be made. It's pretty simple. Scrap the tax funded system and replace it with fully private. Then people will get healthcare.

Have you been to an Ontario ER lately? Lots of sick people in the hallway. People coughing, moaning, crying, vomiting while waiting endlessly to be seen. Nurses and doctors are overworked. They’re doing their best. The health care system is in shambles. It’s challenging for everyone, so please don’t yell at the overworked nurses who manage to show up. We are not the problem. Doug Ford is. He decided to destroy public healthcare this much so that he can justify privatization. Please know where to direct your anger. #onpoli

How anyone can say “this disease is everywhere these days but sometimes we just have to accept defeat” and still claim to be an epidemiologist is beyond me. Yes, some diseases are hard to treat, prevent, or ameliorate. But the whole *point* of epi is that we don’t accept defeat.

@ColinDMello $650M being spent on a parking lot for a private company. To put this into perspective, the amount provided from @fordnation for schools to improve air quality, during a pandemic, was only $133M
