@JCook4547 @neeratanden Yes, and many carriers are grounding lots of flights.
And Europe is gonna run out of fuel in the next 4-5 weeks

@Lewis2020_ @neeratanden All other carriers are coping with the same fuel costs . Bad business model.

Given the news today that Spirit Airlines is shuttering and thousands of people are losing their jobs, I think we should honestly assess whether the Garland DoJ stopping the JetBlue merger with Spirit Airlines was the right call. Perhaps it was but any analysis must consider as part of the equation the loss to so many families ro decide.

@MileHochStriker @ruhrohlol @BuzzPatterson I landed 30 minutes before this occurred on an 87 but was landed on a different runway. It was a bit choppy coming down, but I didn’t notice it being that windy at the surface.
English

@Lewis2020_ @ruhrohlol @BuzzPatterson From my research it was. Tower generally switches to 29 when crosswinds reach the 30 knot threshold
English

@ruhrohlol @BuzzPatterson Generally it’s only used when the crosswinds are out of limits for runways 11/29

@BuzzPatterson @Brick_Suit @osu1980 I flew into Newark at that time from Athens and it was pretty choppy coming down

@united I’m writing to express how disappointing the food quality has become in Polaris, especially given the premium positioning of the product. As a Global Services member, this level of catering falls well below expectations and diminishes the overall experience. It genuinely makes me question why I continue to choose United for my travel.

@jimiuorio @PeteButtigieg @SenWarren @JetBlue @SpiritAirlines It was high fuel costs that was the final death knell for Spirit -- caused by a pointless war that has left everyone worse off.
English

I’ve thought long and hard about the decision by @PeteButtigieg and @SenWarren to block the merger of @JetBlue and @SpiritAirlines back in January of 2024. It was so obvious that it would salvage a poorly run airline and save jobs that even a fifth grader would understand why it was a good thing. It would not have created any real anti trust concerns as both airlines combined would have accounted for less than 10% of total domestic air travel. The only reason I can think of is that they believed the appearance of protecting the consumer(which they obviously did not do) was more important than protecting the jobs of the majority of the 14,000 people employed by Spirit. We can’t continue to have ignoramuses making important decisions if we expect to have a good economy…

The Trump Administration puts Americans FIRST 🇺🇸
@POTUS was not going to bail out Spirit unless it made sense for the American taxpayer
We are lucky to have a GREAT businessman in the Oval Office who won’t allow bad deals to go through

After 76 days, the longest government shutdown in history is over.
@DHSgov is back open, @ICEgov and @CBP will be funded through reconciliation (with NO Democrat votes) so liberals can’t play games with federal law enforcement funding.
To be clear, this Democrat shutdown NEVER should have happened.
To our great, patriotic employees who have continued to protect the homeland every single day without a guaranteed paycheck—thank you. President Trump and I are very grateful to be in the fight with you to Make America Safe Again.

With the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby this Saturday, the President’s decision to roll back tariffs on bourbon and whiskey is timely and welcome news. 95% of the world’s bourbon is produced in the Commonwealth and the industry employs more than 23,000 hardworking Kentuckians. This move will give businesses the certainty they need to increase investment in Kentucky’s economy. After more than a year of looming high prices and increased costs, Kentucky’s bourbon industry and the consumers that support it can be hopeful for the future.

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
