Time to end the Democrat DHS shutdown!

We are more than a month into the Department of Homeland Security shutdown. 120,000 DHS employees – TSA, Cybersecurity officials, FEMA, Coast Guard and more – are working without pay. It’s time to reopen DHS.

Drivers operating 80,000-pound trucks should meet the highest safety standards. Dalilah’s Law strengthens CDL requirements to ensure drivers are properly vetted, trained, and able to safely operate on America’s roadways. I am a proud cosponsor of this important legislation that guarantees dangerous illegal immigrants can’t obtain a CDL.

Why did we quadruple the SALT deduction, and why does it matter so much for New Yorkers? For years, families in high-tax states like New York have been hit by the federal SALT cap, which limited how much you could deduct in state and local taxes. That cap was set at $10,000 — even though many homeowners here easily pay far more than that in property taxes alone. So we raised the SALT deduction cap from $10,000 to $40,000, giving homeowners the ability to deduct much more of the taxes they’re already paying.

The Making Reviews Certain Act, the Grid Expansion and Reliability Act, the Commonsense Review Act, and the Build More Power Act are commonsense reforms that will help modernize our permitting process, strengthen our electric grid, and expand reliable domestic energy production. These bills will cut unnecessary delays, encourage responsible infrastructure development, and help bring down energy costs for American families.
