In a shocking incident, Bengaluru Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly killing his elderly mother by pushing her from the terrace of a four-storey residential building. The deceased, Savithramma (75), had been bedridden for nearly five years after suffering paralysis. Police said her son, Venkatesh, carried her to the terrace before pushing her off the building. She died on the spot due to the impact. According to investigators, the accused, a sales executive, lived with his mother and wife on the second floor of a residential building in RR Nagar. During questioning, he reportedly told police that he was distressed by his mother’s prolonged illness and was unable to cope with her condition. The incident came to light after the building owner, Vikram, filed a complaint. Based on this, a case was registered at the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Police Station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused was subsequently taken into custody. Police said they are also examining whether anyone else was involved in the incident. Further investigation is ongoing.
