You can’t make some things up…. Currently coaching at this HS down in the middle of nowhere, was talking to my on deck hitter (I’m 3b coach), and the umpire tells me I need to get back into the coaches box because I’m not allowed to talk to my hitter while he’s in the on deck circle. To which I replied, ‘that’s not a rule-you’re making that up.’ ‘Coach, you were told to get back into the box. You’ve got ten seconds to do so otherwise you’ll be ejected.’ ‘Mr. Umpire, would you like to inform me of where the coaches box is? Bc I’m sure your vision is that much better than mine….’ ‘Coach, you need to leave.’ So I guess I am being forced to put this little scenario into the Twitter machine to ask the burning question…. CAN ANY OF YOU FIND THE COACHES BOX IM SUPPOSED TO COACH FROM?!

NEW: Canadian curling star Marc Kennedy claims he was set up by "premeditated" cameras to catch him "in an act" of cheating. The Canadian curling team is now claiming to be victims after they were caught on camera 'double-touching' the stone. "They have come up with a plan here at the Olympics, as far as I know, to catch teams in the act at the hog line," Kennedy said. "This was planned... it was kind of evident that something was going on, and they were trying to catch us in an act." Kennedy and Coach Paul Webster accused Sweden of setting up cameras to catch them cheating. "I know we’re not the only team that they’ve done that to. And we’re debating pitch types? This isn’t a curveball problem. This is a youth development problem. Kids are: ⚾️ Playing 90+ games a year ⚾️ Throwing max intent before they can move ⚾️ Training like mini-pros ⚾️ Skipping athletic development ⚾️ Living in velocity culture And then we’re shocked when their elbows explode. So I’ll ask again: 👉 Is the curveball the villain? Or are we breaking kids before they ever get the chance to grow?

JUST IN: Two Cleveland Guardians pitchers have been indicted for allegedly conspiring with sports bettors to rig MLB games. Guardians player Luis Ortiz was arrested Sunday at Logan Airport in Boston. Emmanuel Clase is not yet in custody, according to ABC. “According to the indictment, the pitchers started conspiring with sports bettors in 2023 on specific pitches they would throw during MLB games,” ABC reported. “The bettors then used that information to place prop bets worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, the indictment says.” Insane.

@_joeycunha That move was ridiculed even back then. A common phrase from coaches in the 80’s/90’s was “don’t hitch!” even though ED, Winfield, Canseco, K Mitchell, Baines, Kingman, Buhner, Carew, Boggs and a laundry list of others did it. Hitting coaches have been wrong for a LONG time lol

@TroutisMe1 @Seth_3773 2 balls off the plate is called a ball. If home plate were meant to be 23” it wouldn’t be 17”. Every year I have to teach the freshman coming into my program how to attack the zone because they think they can coast by throwing to the periphery.

@Seth_3773 Two balls off the plate is called “the river” and even HS umpire give that zone. They are encouraged to give that zone. I used to get griped at and get complaints from coaches for being too “tight” with my zone. You can never satisfy anyone, should go robo zone for everyone.

At the plate meeting today, I ask the ump. “Hey man how many you got today?”(games) he goes “this is the third of 6.” Of course the zone was huge.. Of course anything with in two balls off was a strike Of course balls at the letters were strikes. Come on if I’m paying $1,790 for this tournament can I at least have an umpire who isn’t trying to leave a quickly as possible.

@CoachMarcusHill Public school coaches serve the community to offer kids an opportunity to play a sport for the experience and ENJOYMENT. It isnt about you "coaches" but about the kids. Too many coaches don't know your place.
