Her aide mentioned that many representatives were blindsided by this hidden revision and that phone calls from constituents will be effective. The daylight saving time (DST) change was included in a bill primarily labeled for emergency services. According to the Georgia Assembly website, the bill is listed as: HB 154 - Emergency medical services; designate ambulance services as an essential service legis.ga.gov/legislation/69…

I messed up my shoulders during high school football (dislocations) I've had chronic pain/limited mobility ever since, esp in my left shoulder Finally decided to see what if anything I can do to improve things, so got an MRI the other day The results are...not good: - severe glenohumeral osteoarthrosis w/ osteophytes & degernerative tearing of the glenoid labrum - advanced acromioclavicular osteoarthrosis - supraspinosis & subscapular tendinosis w/ some tearing Basically, my shoulder is hot garbage I'm not shocked based on the past decades of pain, but remain hopeful that I can find ways to improve things (somewhat) before having to have a total shoulder replacement - something I'd like to delay for 10-20 years if possible Physical therapy, PRP, stem cells, maybe some lighter surgery (though my main goal is to avoid the knife) -- going to look into it all But I've never let this bad shoulder limit my fitness & health aspirations, nor will I. I'm a big believer that the human body has a miraculous ability to heal itself if you give it the right conditions to do so. So, I'll be working with a team of experts to determine the treatment path from here & then executing on it. Will keep anyone interested in my progress as it happens. My key points for sharing this? 1) Attend to your health 2) Be proactive or swiftly reactive to dealing with issues 3) Don't let the curveballs be a hindrance to progress. Find a way to fix, manage or bypass them. Health is true wealth!

The bill forces the governor to petition the U.S. Department of Transportation to shift the state from Eastern to Atlantic Standard Time zone. If approved, Georgia would observe Atlantic time year-round—effectively locking in permanent daylight saving time without needing congressional action. This is a terrible mistake. Please tell your governor to veto this bill We need to keep it on Eastern Standard time, not Atlantic Standard Time

Yes, GA Senate gutted an unrelated bill in its final stages three business days ago, to bypass public hearings and floor readings. HB 154 would completely change Georgia’s time zone, without interstate coordination, against advice of doctors, safety engineers, education advocates, and broadcasters. It would put sunrise past 8am more than four months, to nearly 9am, which cost kids’ lives and disrupted construction and farming in 1974. Permanent EST instead would ditch the switch without causing chaos to school, work, travel, and communications. OPPOSE HB 154!

@EWErickson Another goverment disapointment in the works. Is anyone in AZ complaining about being on standard time? What a disaster this will be when GA/AL football has a 2 hour time between us. There must be away games this year that senators wanted more drive time.

I actually think this would wind up being a bad idea and pretty bad for business in the state to be the lone east coast state that half the year is in its own time zone.

Permanent Daylight Saving Time would result in much later sunrises during the winter months, which can negatively impact public health, safety, and daily routines. Morning light is important for alertness, school commutes, and overall well-being. John Fetterman's had a 108 pt drop in his net approval with PA Dems since 2023. His net rating is -40 pt net approval with them. His net popularity with his own party is worse than all senators who lost a primary this century. There's no historical analog to his unpopularity.

@RepGregSteube The earth rotates 360 degrees in 24 hours 15 degrees an hour, which is the guidelines for time zones. Let’s not complicate the math here. Just fall back and keep Standard Time.

Today, Americans deal with the unnecessary biannual chaos of changing the clocks. In the Florida legislature, I led the effort to end it. But it takes an act of Congress to get this done. Americans are divided between permanent standard time and permanent daylight time. So I’ve introduced compromise legislation to move the clock forward 30 minutes permanently and end the clock changes for good. Let’s lock the clock once and for all.
