@mert It sort of tells the story of believers who spread them. They assume that the elite’s competence is so high it allows them to control the world without a hitch They’re not wrong in elite being smarter - it’s just amusing how it subtly reveals their awareness of own inferiority

@TheExtremeMusi1 Animals is much more inviting to put on. I generally try to avoid The Wall, I even don’t like it much musically (apart from few Gilmour solos) and I literally hate Roger Waters. The reason I avoid it is that it sticks like a glue and lives in my head rent-free Hence, The Wall 😬

Russia's oil/gas export facilities at Ust-Luga near St Petersburg now burning for the second consecutive day, with Reuters reporting that that 40% of Russia's total exports are now offline. No matter the extent to which Trump tries to save Putin, Russia is now Zelensky's bitch.

@ercwl @AlgodTrading Have you seen what @cass_on_mars is building? Really curious if you have an opinion on Q tech x.com/quilibriuminc/…
Quilibrium@QuilibriumInc

Today, we are publishing one of the side tracks of research ongoing with Q, our E2EE ML training and inference library, klearu: github.com/QuilibriumNetw… SLIDE proved that hash tables can beat GPUs at training deep networks. Further works compounded on this, and Klearu is the first native Rust implementation built on top of this research, extending it to LLM inference, sparsity prediction, and private two-party computation. In the current days we're seeing deeper trust being placed on AI, while the largest of providers are collecting this data for the purpose of not only training, but also advertising, or even selling this data to others. The risks grow worse with every passing day. The majority of AI research for private AI exists in the form of using TEEs – but we've seen time and time again that using TEEs for privacy is disastrous, guaranteed to leak, and even by it's name, is a massive requirement of trust. Outside of this, other private AI looks towards FHE. We know, at least for the near future, that FHE cannot perform at a speed high enough to be generally useful. So instead, we adopted 2PC, with flexible security configurations, where users can be assured that their requests remain private. The majority of these research projects have strictly an output of papers, with no or limited real world instances of their use. Klearu's implementation is available now, with simple instructions for developers to try it out.

@AlgodTrading These things cannot fundamentally exist without decentralized verification, aka zkML. Unless you’re counting TEEs as decentralized alternatives, I guess.

Keep in mind that my Bittensor $TAO review was focused on a single subnet two years ago. Yes, then it was shit. And yes, all the other subnets were shit aswell. Also, back then, the idea itself (that you could use consensus networks to e.g. verify inference or anything else of value mathematically and incentivize/prove/reward subnet miner behavior) was tenuous at best. zkML *is* becoming more practical. Still not practical, but becoming more so. Before you reference this takedown, I need to do a new review of current subnets, like Templar/Targon/Ridges/Chutes and establish whether they’re doing anything interesting, and that the Bittensor incentivization mechanism provides irreplaceable value-add other than just subsidizing costs. The fact that you can subsidize AI projects and achieve things as a subnet using the TAO emission subsidization is confusing for people for two reasons: * For onlookers from the outside, it can look like ”Oh, they did X in subnet Y? That’s impressive!” and that may be a valid takeaway * For other onlookers (with more skepticism) it will be a question whether the orchestration mechanism and verification mechanism Bittensor provides actually contributed anything, or if this was just retail speculators/bagholders subsidizing some AI thingamajig and the thingamajig wasn’t useless That’s why the achievements of subnets can be both impressive and unimpressive at the same time. As a more overarching question about all this, it’s about whether AI thematically is so important that it will *force* a marriage between AI projects and crypto liquidity, and that crypto will facilitate useful bootstrapping this way. *That*, I think will happen, and therefore it may be a mistake to chain yourself to the chariot of Bittensor’s demise.

An attack on the Baltic countries is вполне real, and here’s why. There are at least THREE reasons for such a move. The first and main one: Russia risks NOTHING. No matter how events unfold with the occupation of the Baltic states, Russia will not end up worse off. Sanctions are already in place. Europe is no longer buying its oil products and gas. Weapons are being supplied to Ukraine anyway. From a purely military standpoint, Russia also risks nothing. It has nuclear weapons, so if it succeeds and occupies the Baltics or parts of them, no one will be able to push it out. And if it loses, it won’t lose its own territory—it will simply retreat back to its borders, and NATO will not invade Russian territory because of those same nuclear weapons. So why not try? The second reason lies in the broader war aims. The goals of the Russian Federation go far beyond occupying the Baltics. First and foremost, Russia is interested in the collapse of NATO and the EU. From this perspective, any territorial gain in the Baltics would count as a victory. Even if Russia does not capture Vilnius or Tallinn, but only a few border villages, it would still be seen as a victory, because it would demonstrate NATO’s inability to protect its members. So again—why not try? The third reason: Russia has sufficient forces and resources in the potential conflict zone to accomplish military objectives and achieve an acceptable outcome. In the Leningrad Military District, there is a combat-ready grouping of about 70,000 troops, which can easily be reinforced with reserves from the Ukrainian front. This force is mechanized, with around 700 tanks and a large amount of armored vehicles. Separately, it’s worth noting the drone component, which has no real equivalent in NATO and could radically shift the balance of power in the event of an invasion. If the forces are sufficient—then why not try? As of now, the situation looks like this: Russia has enough capabilities to pursue its objectives in the Baltics and faces no clearly bad сценарии under any development of events. The situation is very similar to the one before the invasion of Ukraine—especially considering the recently introduced law allowing Putin to “protect Russians abroad.” The Baltic countries have helped us more than anyone else, and I sincerely wish our friends never face war. But to preserve peace, one must prepare for a major war. And it is very good that our Baltic friends have learned from Ukraine’s mistakes and have built defensive lines and fortifications to repel any invasion. I truly hope that the Russian Federation will break its teeth on the Baltics just as it did on Ukraine.

I can't believe the flood of silly analyses on X about this virtual "Narva People's Republic." If this trend continues, journalists / commentators will effectively orchestrate the secession themselves, annex Narva to Russia, and subsequently ponder how to reverse it. The fairy tale about separatism in Narva and all sorts of "people's republics" in the Baltic states is just a way to get attention/clicks. Virtual "people's republics" online have been popping up since the start of the previous decade. They've already targeted Latvia, Estonia, and there was even a "Vilnius People's Republic" run in Polish. Did any of them come true? NO! The vast majority of these "people's republic" news stories are written by journalists who don't know the local context of Russian-speaking communities in Latvia or Estonia. Okay, but what about these internet separatists this time? Since this "scandal" blew up, the "people's republic"'s online reach has grown from a few dozen subscribers to 500. I'll bet most of the followers who joined last week are people interested in the group for professional reasons. Today's Postimees edition published an investigation into the online phenomenon of the "Narva People's Republic," which suggests there are only two active supporters of separatism in Estonia :) The journalists joined the inner circle of internet separatists. As it turned out, in that circle besides the channel owner, there were just two others: a port worker from Sillamäe and one potential "fighter" from Tallinn. The Sillamäe port worker was the Postimees journalists, and the "fighter" from Tallinn, according to the authors, is probably a journalist from a competing paper or a KaPo officer. Unfortunately, these sensational stories harm Estonia's image.

Quilibrium’s #Klearu is literally the only true private llm service in the entire industry right now…. read. that. again: KLEARU IS THE ONLY TRUE PRIVATE LLM SERVICE IN THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW. Internalize the biblical significance of that, and how undervalued that makes @QuilibriumInc, the microcap crypto project responsible for this feat. The crazy part is - this isn’t even the most impressive thing this project has, or will, launch. It’s not just AI - They’re literally replacing EVERYTHING (i.e. the entire fucking internet) with a Private Decentralized alternative (through their Cloud PaaS) so that the Internet and everything that exists on it can finally be free (as in, no longer under the gaze or control of you know who 👁️‍🗨️). Fairly Launched. no VC’s. MPoW. OpenSource. Cypherpunk AF. The rest of crypto - especially the VC funded pump and dump projects - can suck a duck’s webbed driblet. I will keep on buying $wquil every day and never stop buying because nothing else deserves my purchasing power more than Quilibrium. Long Live Cypherpunks. Long Live the Internet. Long Live Quilibrium. x.com/i/grok/share/b…
