Community Safety Alert: Door Kick Incidents Reported in Sierra Ridge & Stepping Stone ⚠️🚪 We want to make our community aware of a couple of recent possible attempted burglaries in the Sierra Ridge and Stepping Stone neighborhoods. The suspect has tried to kick in the front door of homes on Big Stone Circle and Fort Worth Court. Reported incidents on May 2nd and May 3rd have included: -Damage to glass and security screens -Loud thuds heard at front doors in the night/early morning -Cracked door jambs -Doors left slightly ajar after impact In one reported incident, the suspect was described as: -Thin male -Gray hoodie -Red jogger pants -Slides/sandals We understand the available surveillance picture does not show much detail, but we are hoping someone in the community may recognize the clothing or have additional camera footage or information that could help identify the individual involved. We want to make neighbors aware that this is happening so everyone can stay alert, secure doors, monitor cameras, and report suspicious activity immediately. On December 29, 2025, a woman was captured on video arriving in the 9000 block of Ashleigh Place in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She arrived in a white SUV and was seen releasing a black and white cat from her vehicle before leaving the area. The cat was later captured on Ring camera footage nearby. Animal abandonment is a serious offense, and cases like this rely on the community to help bring accountability and protect animals who cannot speak for themselves. If you recognize the person, the vehicle, or the cat, or if you have any information at all related to this incident, please contact Crime Stoppers. Tips can be submitted anonymously. Update: Exterior fire in the backyard under control; no extension to the residence. One occupant safely evacuated. Fire was initially called in by a citizen driving by and given an SMFR Challenge coin for his quick thinking and making the call to 911. Fire is under investigation.

Update: Fire is under control and contained to a single room at the Staybridge Suites. One person was transported to a local hospital. One dog was rescued from the room. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the SMFR Fire Marshal’s office. The hotel is currently evacuated, and all occupants will be allowed back in shortly.
