The #United States must think carefully before normalizing relations with Eritrea’s #dictatorship under Isaias Afwerki. For more than 30 years, Eritreans have lived without elections, a free press, an independent judiciary, or basic political freedoms. Thousands of citizens, journalists, religious believers, and political prisoners have disappeared into prisons without trial. The regime’s indefinite national service system has been widely condemned as a form of forced labor. Eritrea has also spent decades fueling instability and conflict across the Horn of Africa, while more than 1500000 Eritreans have fled the country in search of freedom and safety. #Normalizing ties with one of the world’s most repressive regimes without meaningful reforms, accountability, and respect for human rights would not be smart diplomacy — it would #legitimize authoritarianism and betray the Eritrean people. The international community should stand with the people of Eritrea, not reward the system that has oppressed them for generations. @JDVance — U.S. Vice President @SecRubio — Secretary of State Marco Rubio @SpeakerJohnson — House Speaker Mike Johnson @SenTomCotton — Senator Tom Cotton @ChrisCoons — Senator Chris Coons @RepMcCaul — Congressman Michael McCaul @HRW @amnesty @freedomhouse @UNHumanRights #africa #Eritrea @BeyeneGerezghe1 @BereketKahsai1 @AAOdds_Eritrea @ETMissionUN @hawelti @TiborPNagyJr @EGerasouli35992 @martinplaut @NhameduBrg3298 @CaptnEritrea @Wedi_Destu @baytoyiaklusa @TsehayeAwet

So sad 😔 According to Human Rights Watch’s 2026 World Report, over 660,000 Eritreans were in exile at the end of 2024, which is about 18% of the estimated population. And according to the #UN, about 5,000 are forced into exile every month, all youth and children trying to survive due to indefinite slavery mechanisms. The suffering of Eritreans deserves much more international attention. This oppression, this forced conscription, and the lack of basic freedoms is not just a migration issue – it is a human rights emergency, a silent genocide. This is a man-made disaster💔. How many more Eritrean youth must disappear into exile before the world finally takes notice? Eritreans and the Horn of Africa deserve freedom, dignity, and a future in their own homes. Our silence only prolongs the suffering. Our situation requires immediate action, the youth of #BlueRevolution #EBRF are working for regime change, so the question is: "What are we waiting for🤔?" #BlueRevolution #EBRF

@Fadaxnadegle Let this is true first before you twitt to stop lifting the sanctions. If Trump move the sanction it's the best gifts to our people not HGDF.

The regime’s control of key geography changes nothing about its total failure. After 35 years, #Eritrea still has no constitution, no elections, and no freedom. Youth are lost to indefinite service and mass exodus. Global actors must reject short-term deals and support real regime change. #EBRF #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #RegimeChangeInEritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror @POTUS @WSJ @MarioNawfal @BeyeneGerezghe1 @CmaDawit @BereketKahsai1 @EGerasouli35992 @BradSherman @darrell @KjetilTronvoll @TiborPNagyJr @martinplaut @mrubin1971 @SenateForeign @washingtonpost @senatorscarr @SenAdamSchiff @SenatorDurbin @tedcruz @DrJPPham @SenJeffMerkley @DrChTouati @UN_HRC @UN @hrw @amnesty @Habtishgreat @IntlCrimCourt @washingtonpost responsiblestatecraft.org/us-eritrea-nor…

The November 2021 sanctions were not random. They were imposed because Eritrean-linked actors were tied to serious abuses and regional destabilization. Nothing fundamental has changed since then. No elections. No constitution in force. No accountability. Indefinite forced service. A regime that its own people keep fleeing. Calling Eritrea “strategic” does not erase the danger of empowering the same system that helped create instability in the Horn of Africa. The U.S. should not trade long-term stability for short-term Red Sea access. Real strategy means supporting the Eritrean people, democratic transition, rule of law, and a future beyond the PFDJ dictatorship. Lifting sanctions without change is not diplomacy. It is surrendering leverage. #EBRF #BlueRevolution #RegimeChangeInEritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror #Eritrea @SecRubio @StateDept @USEmbassyAddis @ForeignAffairs @CFR_org @amnesty @hrw @UNHumanRights @martinplaut @TiborPNagyJr @RStatecraft @mrubin1971 @BeyeneGerezghe1 @PMEthiopia @CmaDawit

Excellent thread! Thank you for sharing your expertise on the Eritrean community in Israel and highlighting the reality on the ground. The Blue Revolution’s work since 2021 has been crucial in pushing back against #PFDJ #transnationalrepression in the diaspora. Real solidarity means protecting genuine refugees while exposing regime agents. Keep speaking truth. #EBRF #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #Eritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror

No amount of strategic importance can wash away the crimes of this regime. Thirty-five years of Isaias Afwerki have left #Eritrea without a constitution, without elections, and without a future. The international community must stop enabling dictatorship in the name of Red Sea security. The #BlueRevolution is the only path. #EBRF #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #RegimeChangeInEritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror @POTUS @WSJ @MarioNawfal @BeyeneGerezghe1 @CmaDawit @BereketKahsai1 @EGerasouli35992 @BradSherman @darrell @KjetilTronvoll @TiborPNagyJr @martinplaut @mrubin1971 @SenateForeign @washingtonpost @senatorscarr @SenAdamSchiff @SenatorDurbin @tedcruz @DrJPPham @SenJeffMerkley @DrChTouati @UN_HRC @UN @hrw @amnesty @Habtishgreat @IntlCrimCourt @washingtonpost responsiblestatecraft.org/us-eritrea-nor…

Fear was meant to keep us silent. To make people believe that speaking the truth would only lead to punishment, prison,or disappearance. An entire generation grew up watching voices disappear while silence became part of everyday life. But even under repression, the desire for freedom never died. Today, we are choosing to speak instead of hide. To stand together instead of living in fear. To fight for a future where Eritreans can live with dignity, justice and opportunity in their own country. They wanted silence. What they created was resistance. One people. One future. One Eritrea. #EBRF #TransnationalRepression #BlueRevolution #RegimeChangeInEritrea #NoMorePFDJTerror #HumanRightsForAll @BeyeneGerezghe1 @CmaDawit @BereketKahsai1 @EGerasouli35992 @BradSherman @darrell @KjetilTronvoll @TiborPNagyJr @martinplaut @mrubin1971 @SenateForeign @washingtonpost @senatorscarr @SenAdamSchiff @SenatorDurbin @tedcruz @DrJPPham @SenJeffMerkley @DrChTouati @UN_HRC @UN @hrw @amnesty @IntlCrimCourt @washingtonpost @BBC @AJEnglish @_AfricanUnion @afric_insde
