Emilio, I think both sides here have their own responsibility of ending the drama that has been going on for several months now It's not ACI good, Labs bad, or Labs good and ACI bad Both sides have demonstrated extremely childish behavior and it baffles me that no one is capable of admitting their wrongs and recognise the other side's valid arguments The proposal itself isn't "bad". But it lacks some elements that are important for the future of Aave. I think it's reasonable on behalf of ACI to ask for more transparency and audits of how funds are used. I agree that in order for new products to work, Labs needs more budget that matches what is being done in the fintech sector. And if this budget allocation doesn't work, then the DAO will have the choice not to fund this initiative in 1 year. (don't understand the rationale for 75K AAVE tokens though) It's just tiring to see this never-ending ego fight between the two of the most important contributors of Aave. And frankly, the most likely outcome for Aave (if things remain as hostile as they are today) is the cold war between the two sides even if an agreement is reached leading to fragmented contributions and not a unified and strong image Aave should have. My thoughts on this: 1. Zeller and ACI are not the DAO despite ACI desperate attempts to make people believe so. 2. This is not a DAO win in the form that this post wants to make you believe. This is a DAO win as it formalises the way all the largest token holders, whose feedback has been carefully listened to and incorporated, prefer Labs to operate. Labs was not “forced” by anyone to put out this proposal, as there was really no need to force anything. This proposal is just explicitly stating one of the possible ways Labs can continue to operate and scale Aave at both protocol and product level. We have explored in the past other ways, but apparently this is the favorite one. 3. The budget asked is for future developments at both the protocol and product level. These funds are needed to try to compete at a higher scale than the current defi landscape. If we want to compete at worldwide fintech level, we need worldwide fintech budgets. For the goal, this budget is even quite small. 4. ACI has been showing a clear path of unreasonable opposition to pretty much anything Labs has proposed, including proposals with immediate and complete DAO benefits with no strings attached, like the megaETH one where labs had to step in to compensate for ACIs own inefficiency.

Today we are proposing the Aave Will Win Framework, a new alignment framework that directs 100% of product revenue to the Aave DAO treasury under a token-centric model.

Bro it's a tempcheck not a freaking onchain proposal. The goal of the tempchecks is to gather feedback and readjust where needed. Claiming that this is detrimental for Aave is just shortsighted. My entire life revolves around Aave I would never endorse anything that can hurt it. In any case there will be an official response soon.

WHY ZELENSKY CANNOT MAKE PEACE Zelensky’s meltdown in the Oval Office began over his refusal to accept a negotiated settlement to the war. Even the Vice President’s use of the word “diplomacy” provoked a heated response. So why can’t Zelensky make a peace deal? 1) He will lose power. Zelensky cancelled elections in Ukraine and remains in power through martial law. Despite what USAID propaganda polls may claim, Zelensky is unpopular in Ukraine and would likely lose a fair election. That could leave him vulnerable to retaliation from political opponents he has imprisoned or seized assets from. In short, Zelensky needs the war to justify his continued rule. 2) The gravy train will end. Ukraine was widely acknowledged as the most corrupt country in Europe before the war, and there is abundant evidence that Ukrainian elites have been hugely profiting from the billions in Western aid. If the war ends, so does the gravy train. A post-war audit of where the money went would also be disastrous for Zelensky’s supporters. 3) He fears the ultra-nationalists. Most Ukrainians say they want the war to end, but the ultra-nationalist faction (a relative minority but well-armed and willing to use violence to achieve their ends) refuses to accept any territorial concessions to Russia. If Zelensky signs such a deal, he has reason to fear for his safety. 4) He’s psychologically committed. Zelensky’s belief in ultimate victory over Russia has “hardened into a form that worries some of his advisors,” according to a report by TIME Magazine, which described Zelensky’s faith as “immovable, verging on the messianic.” According to one of Zelensky’s aides, “He is delusional. We’re out of options. We’re not winning. But try telling him that.” Zelensky may be in too deep to see the situation objectively. 5) History will judge him harshly. Zelensky could have accepted a draft peace deal signed in the first month of the war, the Istanbul Accords, under which Ukraine would have kept all of its territory in exchange for neutrality. A deal now will likely be modeled on Istanbul but require Ukraine to recognize realities on the ground (ie loss of territory). Acknowledging that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have died only to get a worse deal may be too bitter a pill for Zelensky to swallow, now or ever. In summary, Zelensky has powerful motivations to reject a deal, no matter how bad the battlefield realities get. His incentive is to continue a doomed war even if it leads to the complete destruction of Ukraine. Instead of offering unconditional support, Zelensky’s supporters in the West should be urging him to seek a diplomatic off-ramp. Certainly they should stop catering to his unrealistic and maximalist demands. As Solzhenitsyn said, the yes-man is your enemy, but a friend will argue with you.

@JCSinger5 @CynicalPublius Why? To be frank, when one side is the winner in a war involving territory, they shouldn't give up that territory. It's not about morality or whether one side is right or not. At this point it's about who's winning and who's losing. Ukraine lost and they have to accept that.

I would like to make a point about the Ukraine/Russia War. I believe it is the most important point. Here it is: Right now, as you are reading this, a Ukrainian or Russian teen was in all likelihood killed in action. Why? For what? Ukraine cannot win this war. What Zelenskyy wants is for the US and/or NATO to literally start fighting the Russians, and that's not going to happen because nobody wants nuclear Armageddon and the end of humanity (except possibly Zelenskyy). So what is the ONLY option? Answer: mark the boundaries where they are right now and stop fighting. Trump knows this. Vance knows this. Anyone with a brain who understands war knows this. THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION. And anybody who disagrees with what I just said is either a bloodthirsty warmonger, a lobotomite midwit, or both. Face reality people.
