📩 Can digital nudges boost vaccination—year after year? 🔎 New in @JAMANetwork @niklasdj1 and colleagues from @CTCPR_ tested whether digital invitation design affects trial enrollment within DANFLU-2 (n=934,049). 1-page letters outperformed 2-page versions 📄 Color made no difference 🎨 ~1% absolute difference = ~9,800 extra participants per 1M invites. Key points: • Individually randomized, care-embedded design across two integrated health systems • Messaging emphasizes potential CV benefits of vaccination • Evaluates both effectiveness + optimal timing • Diverse US population across age, race/ethnicity & cardiometabolic risk KP-VACCINATE is the largest and most diverse individually randomized implementation trial conducted globally to date, offering scalable, low-cost strategies to improve vaccination coverage and support CV risk reduction. Happy to share results from the Danish NUDGE-FLU CHRONIC 1 trial at #AHA25 Nudges improved vaccination in all groups - but ethnic disparities persist. Even in the setting of universal access to healthcare, equity in prevention still needs attention. @CTCPR_

NUDGE-FLU trial: Promoting one vaccine can influence uptake of another 🦠💉 A prespecified secondary analysis of the nationwide NUDGE-FLU trial by @niklasdj1,  and colleagues @CTCPR_ found that electronic letters promoting influenza vaccination slightly reduced COVID-19 vaccination uptake (−0.36 percentage points) in Danish adults ≥65 — but had no effect on COVID-19 infection or hospitalization. 💡 Highlights that interventions targeting a single vaccine may have unintended consequences on other preventive measures, emphasizing the importance of coordinated public health messaging.
