Fun fact: UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) frequently employs pre-litigation correspondence, known as "lawfare", in order to intimidate public institutions, councils, and schools and to pressure them into removing & erasing symbols of Palestinian culture, art, and solidarity. However, UKLFI have not taken out any high-profile cases to a full court trial for these issues, usually relying on their legal and regulatory threats in the pre-litigation correspondence. This has been their pattern of behaviour and activity for decades. For decades they have been targeting local authorities in order to pressure them into not adopting ethical investment policies that would align with BDS principles (thus resulting in a boycott and disinvestment from Israel). These matters have so far NOT been tested in UK courts from the standpoint that UK Lawyers for Israel takes. Their argument is that wearing a keffiyeh constitutes harassment under the Equality Act 2010. They claim that any symbol, artwork, badge, or clothing item that represents Palestine or Palestinians is inherently threatening and causes distress to British Jews and that this creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading or offensive environment related to protected characteristics such as race, religion or belief. It is then argued that anybody who is Jewish, Israeli or Zionist may reasonably feel targeted or marginalised by displays of Palestinian culture and artwork, or any symbols/emblems representing solidarity with Palestinians. But what is missing from all these legal arguments are the questions of whether the same protections under the same legislation that UKLFI is weaponising to attack and erase Palestine & Palestinians from public view, can be applied in order to PROTECT Palestinians. Ultimately, what is needed is for a UK judge to make a ruling that would highlight the way in which UKLFI is weaponising the Equality Act 2010 as a tool to promote anti-Palestinian racism by turning various environments into hostile and degrading places impacting Palestinians. The activities of UKLFI in targeting Palestinians in such a way could then be reasonably declared as amounting to the malicious use of lawfare in order to further unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act 2010. So far no organisation or public body that has been threatened by UKLFI has been willing to call the bluff and allow the matter to progress to court. UKLFI works alongside various Israel advocacy organisations to ramp up the political pressure once they've sent in their pre-litigation correspondence. This is an outrage and more people need to be talking about it.

Israelis have overwhelmingly supported the Gaza genocide, including the ones who oppose Netanyahu. Liberal Zionists fundamentally do not get this; the left’s objection is to the genocide, not to Netanyahu per se, and there is zero faith in Israel’s ability to course correct.

Dear Jewish Israelis, You are the closest 21st century equivalent to the Germans in 1943. No one else comes anywhere as close as you.  Your political, military, academic, media, tech, business & finance leaders are all in on the genocide. To clarify, you are not the German equivalent in 1949 or 1951 — but the equivalent in 1943 or 1944 — as your government is STILL perpetrating a genocide and your society is STILL supporting it.  You will be treated accordingly.  Not that that’s fair — as a small number of you are not genocidal — but it’s just the most obvious, natural & normal reaction of normal people around the world who watched your entire society cheer on the industrial scale slaughter of the Palestinians day in and day out for nearly three years…. And counting. When I encounter Israeli Jews— the only thing that comes to mind is that there is a 95% chance this person is genocidal. There would be a massive problem in the world if you were treated completely normally.

Here's another reason I have a full crush on @ZohranKMamdani. @ASFleischman @instapundit I didn’t threaten her, but I think if she can’t cope, she should step down. Because we all have to live with her decisions even if they’re based on fear and self preservation.

For obvious reasons, you can't threaten to kill someone and then say this requires their recusal. Judges need to be kept safe so that they can rule impartially. You can't convert their lack of safety into an excuse to deny them safety.
