The AI Impact Summit has been remarkable. The density of talent, ideas, and ambition in one place is something to witness. Proud to see India at the centre of a global AI conversation, surrounded by some of the best minds in the world. Our dinner brought many of them together. Founders, policymakers, global tech leaders, all in one room. The conversations were rich, the intent was clear, and India's seat at the table has never felt more earned. @AccelIndia @ShwetaRKohli Ashutosh Sharma @Prosus_Ventures

I was at the Pitchfest as part of the Global AI Impact Summit in Delhi yesterday. After watching 20+ startups pitch across sectors ranging from education to defense one thing became very clear to me: The move to AI is inevitable. The real question has always been: where will India play? There are two key themes that stand out: 1. Context is the moat (not cost) India is not the US and our context is unique - Our regulatory environment, legal systems, government programs, and social realities are different. Startups that deeply understand this context and design for it will have a durable advantage. While the world solves for Western geographies, India’s context creates opportunities only we can capture. 2. Physical meets digital. AI is moving beyond software into Robotics, defense systems, and other hardware-enabled AI solutions. These are taking shape today, solving problems that weren’t possible a decade ago. It was inspiring to see startups showcased on a stage orchestrated by the Government of India, with strong participation from institutional capital. When founders build supported by inflow of strong private capital and policy - momentum becomes exponential. The AI moment in India isn’t ahead of us. It’s happening now. If you’re thinking about starting up or making a career shift, this is the space to be in. We at Accel are committed to supporting startup’s who are building in AI from India. @AshwiniVaishnaw Abhishek Singh @rajattandy @AmitabhShah @byvidhya @AccelIndia @IndianVCA @YUVAunstopable

Big congratulations to Baskar, Vidhya, Srini, and everyone at @AmagiCorp. The company started in 2008, the same year Accel began its journey in India, and little did we know we would go on to become partners along the way. Over the past 18 years, Amagi has built software that now sits at the core of how broadcasters around the world transition to streaming. Now, as AI reshapes the media industry, Amagi is well prepared for what lies ahead, and we’re proud to continue partnering with the team.

On National Startup Day, I find myself reflecting on how far India’s startup ecosystem has come. Having seen multiple cycles, my conviction for the next decade is clear: India’s real edge is going to come from depth in building global-standard products driven by IP-led engineering and manufacturing. The next chapter won’t be defined by speed alone, but by applying startup speed to build enduring, globally recognised products from India. Here is an article sharing my thoughts on the same: ptinews.com/story/business… Shri @narendramodi Shri @PiyushGoyal Shri @Amardeep2009 Shri @SanjivIRS Shri Sumeet Jarangal Mamtha Venkatesh Chaahat Khattar @startupindia @DPIITGoI #10yearsofstartupIndia #nationalStartupDay #StartupIndia #IndiastartupEcosystem

There is a subtle lack of pride in Indian venture. “US is more exciting.” “They build trillion dollar companies, we build dhanda.” “Big ideas are gone.” This view misses a crucial perspective. Let me explain. 1/n

Meesho opens for IPO subscription today as India's largest ecommerce player by shipments, beating Amazon and Flipkart to become the first horizontal consumer internet IPO. 210M users. 88% outside top 8 cities. Here's why they solved a problem the incumbents are structurally incapable of solving (Details 🧵below) : Everyone thinks Meesho won by being "the cheap option." Wrong. Meesho won by recognizing that 200M+ Indians were structurally locked out of organized ecommerce. Not because they didn't want it. Because serving them profitably was impossible with existing cost structures. The core insight: You can't serve Rs 200 transactions with infrastructure built for Rs 2000 transactions.

AgroStar’s clarity from the early days was simple, direct, and to build for scale, and that was a key reason we backed the team early. Agri has always been one of India’s core foundations, and innovation here creates meaningful impact. This milestone shows how that early belief continues to hold as the journey grows. Congratulations! @ShardulSheth @SitanshuSheth @agrostar_in @AlladwarRitesh @siddshrikanth @byvidhya @tcmsundaram Rohit sood @shashvat_rai Abhishek Chandra Vaishanvi S.

AgroStar’s journey has always reflected how Sitanshu and Shardul understand Indian agriculture: complex, unpredictable, and in need of solutions built around the farmer. @SitanshuSheth | @ShardulSheth | @Prashanthp | @Agrostar_in

Today we launched LEAP - the Local Economy Accelerator Program, a ₹1,000 crore initiative to build innovation and entrepreneurship across Karnataka over the next five years. LEAP will nurture over 5 lakh jobs by supporting startups through a full lifecycle approach with funds, incubators, accelerators, Centres of Excellence and Global Technology Centres. It includes a ₹300 crore fund of funds, ₹100 crore for deep tech, and focused programs for research, prototyping and skilling. By creating strong ecosystems in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns, we are making world-class infrastructure, including plug-and-play/co-working facilities, mentorship and market access available to entrepreneurs everywhere.
