I wish you both every success as you continue serving our great Republic in the advancement of justice, the rule of law, and the strengthening of constitutional democracy. At State House Nairobi, presided over the swearing-in of Supreme Court Judge Justice Warsame and the conferment of Senior Counsel status to Mr Gaturu and Ms Waruhiu. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya Martha Koome were present.

Nairobi becomes the convening point for one of the most consequential conversations for Africa in this generation. More than 30 Heads of States, coming together to discuss 7 agenda themes with 1 vision - Taking #AfricaFoward. We have spent months working to ensure that when the world comes to Nairobi on 11 and 12th May, Africa arrives as a continent with a clear vision of its priorities, and the partners committed to advancing them alongside us. This is a Summit of substance, one with the potential to define a new chapter in Africa’s global engagement.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, held talks with H.E. Mr. Saad Abdullah Al Nofaia, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kenya. In welcoming the Ambassador, the Prime Cabinet Secretary congratulated him on his appointment and reaffirmed the warm and longstanding bilateral relations between Kenya and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in trade and investment, particularly in agriculture and livestock products. Discussions also covered energy security and the need to diversify supply chains in light of recent security developments in the Middle East. On diaspora and remittances, the Prime Cabinet Secretary expressed appreciation to the Saudi Government for hosting approximately 300,000 Kenyan workers in the Kingdom. Both leaders agreed to strengthen engagement through political consultations scheduled for July this year.

The goal is to concentrate more capital behind fewer, higher-impact initiatives. By aligning around shared priorities, sharing risk, and coordinating existing and planned commitments, participants can unlock the kind of systemic, government-led change that no single funder can achieve alone. I provided Government 🇰🇪 perspectives and assurances of our commitment towards domestic financing - both public and private sector aiming at atleast 1% of GDP towards #Science, #Research and #Innovation.
