ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ವೇಗದ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ: ಯಶವಂತಪುರ–ವಿಜಯಪುರ ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ಆರಂಭ ಮೇ 16ರಿಂದ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ ಮುಂದಿನ 7 ವಾರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳ ಕಾಲ, ಅಂದರೆ ಜೂನ್ 28ರವರೆಗೆ ಯಶವಂತಪುರ–ವಿಜಯಪುರ ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ತರಲಿದೆ. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಂಚರಿಸಲಿರುವ ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲು, ತುಮಕೂರು, ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಆಯ್ದ 9 ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಿಲುಗಡೆ ಹೊಂದಿರಲಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ವಿಜಯಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೇವಲ 11 ಗಂಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಲುಪಬಹುದಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳು, ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸುಗಮ ಮತ್ತು ವೇಗವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಶನಿವಾರ ಯಶವಂತಪುರದಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವ ಈ ರೈಲು, ಭಾನುವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ ವಿಜಯಪುರದಿಂದ ಮರಳಲಿದ್ದು ವಾರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಸೇವೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗದೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು–ವಿಜಯಪುರ ನಡುವಿನ ವೇಗದ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿ ರೂಪುಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಕೇವಲ 10 ಗಂಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜಯಪುರ–ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ವೇಗದ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆ ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಲಿದೆ.

The newly constructed 9.60 km broad gauge double line between Almatti and Wandal, part of the Gadag–Hotgi Doubling Project, was commissioned and opened for passenger services on 25.03.2026. This section features a major open web girder bridge over the Parvatikatti River and is equipped with modern track infrastructure designed to support speeds of up to 110 kmph. With the commissioning of this stretch, the entire Gadag–Hotgi doubling project has been successfully completed, resulting in increased line capacity, improved punctuality, and safer, more efficient train operations.

The 25th meeting of the Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) of South Western Railway was held today at Chalukya Institute, Hubballi. The meeting was chaired by Additional General Manager, Shri P. Ananth, with the participation of ZRUCC members. Various issues concerning public interest, including passenger amenities, infrastructure development, train services such as additional stoppages, increased frequency of trains, and the construction of ROBs/RUBs, lifts and escalators were discussed. The meeting was attended by Shri E. Tukaram, Hon’ble MP (Ballari); Kumari Priyanka Jarakiholi, Hon’ble MP (Chikkodi); Shri U. B. Banakar, Hon’ble MLA (Hirekerur); along with Principal Heads of Departments, senior officers of South Western Railway, and members of the ZRUCC.
