Throughout this period, women and girls have been subjected to widespread and systematic violence. Yet, much of what they endured have remained unheard and undocumented. “+1,000 Days of War on Women” is a documentary series that centers these voices. It examines the impact of Sudan’s conflict on women and girls, moving beyond numbers and headlines to the realities forced into silence. This first part of the series focuses on testimonies from El Fasher, North Darfur, following the fall of the city to the RSF on October 26, 2025, capturing what women and girls endured. The violence inflicted on women and girls in Sudan is not an unavoidable consequence of war. It has been enabled by impunity and sustained by silence, thus allowing the cycle of violence to continue. Intersectionality reminds us that violence is never experienced in isolation. Gender, class, age, disability, identity, and digital access all shape how harm is felt and how justice is denied or delivered. In digital spaces, these overlapping identities intensify the harm: targeted abuse, discriminatory algorithms, unequal access, and the silencing of voices that sit at multiple margins. 📢 16 Days of Activism: Protecting the Girl Child from Digital Violence ✨ On Friday, 28th November 2025, the Alliances for Africa team visited Ikenegbu Girls’ Secondary School, Owerri, for a powerful sensitization session as part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign. The session aimed to educate the students on digital violence and how they can protect themselves online. We were warmly received by the Principal and teachers during the morning assembly. Our session focused on the theme “Protecting the Girl Child from Digital Violence.” The students learned what digital violence is, its various forms, and how certain online behaviors can put young girls at risk. It was an energetic and interactive session. To make the discussion more engaging and participatory, students were asked questions, and those who provided correct answers received small gift items to encourage active participation. By the end of the session, both the Principal and the students expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and the knowledge shared. Building stronger alliances for justice and equality across Africa starts with coming together. This spirit guided the Africa Family Law Network (AFLN) Membership Drive launch, hosted by SIHA Network in partnership with @EqualityNow, @FemnetProg, and @Musawah.
