@rushicrypto In my area 70% goes to the local school. If you don’t have kids in the school system then yes 70% then another 5% is libraries which we don’t use. So 3/4 is pointless for a lot of people.

@Madz_Grant Kids have a lot fewer boundaries today than we did in the 80s. Kids didn't run the house then.

I've noticed amongst friends who have little kids that they are basically forced into waking up when they do. When I was little I remember v clearly knowing that we shouldn't go and wake parents until at least 9am on a weekend, and generally entertaining ourselves in the morning

Nobody is skeptical of autonomous elevators because nobody alive today was even around to see a human elevator operator in real life before the last one got laid off. Automation is far safer.

people say "women are not paid less, they just pick empathy careers." ok.!!! but who decided nursing and teaching are worth less? like we will pay a sales guy 150k to move numbers around, but pay a nurse pennies to literally keep people alive, or give a teacher crumbs and wonder why future generations are failing every test. it is not that empathy based work is less valuable it is that we’ve normalized underpaying it because it’s "women’s work."

@neilblock @ArmyVet_INFtoMI @ICannot_Enough I was looking for someone to mention this! It was just in the last year or two they replaced the manual elevator with an automatic one. I rode it during the Chicago Open House a few years ago. It broke down immediately after. I felt very lucky.

An update on these 11 puppies that were dumped in a plastic storage container last September where they could barely move or breathe, in Alabama. They were all rescued and cared for and adopted out and are now being loved and living in their forever homes. So many evil people in the world. I guess at least you could say they cut holes out in the bin for air to get through. Please have your pets spayed or neutered and instead of bringing a bunny home this Spring or buying a dog from a pets store, maybe think of rescuing a dog and adopting one at your local shelter. They are overcrowded and need help. 💔
