I’m very confused about the number of people who think “property tax” is a sales tax on you home rather than taxes to pay for public services you use every day. “I paid off my home why do i still pay property taxes?!?!?” Oh, did you also stop using the roads and libraries and sidewalks and parks? Not worried about fires anymore?

@dmonnin1 @rushicrypto I didn't say that. I was responding to the OG post regarding people paying high property taxes for services we don't use everyday or at all. Apparently, I use community schools according to people because I go to the grocery store and they have a cashier.

@hawks112233 @rushicrypto So what you’d prefer is is a use tax. You pay a toll each time you use a road. If the seeer serving your property needs replaced you pay for the replacement. I’m not using that particular section of sewer, why should I pay to replace it?

@hawks112233 @rushicrypto Property taxes are the best and fairest way to fund local government, correct Income tax typically goes to Fed and state and is beyond local control, and sales tax is a regressive tax

@RoylDutchODukes @rushicrypto I “own” my home with no mortgage. Still paying 2% of home value for real estate taxes. Agreed a good school district helps home values though.

@hawks112233 @rushicrypto A good school district makes up a sizable part of your property’s resale value. If the school goes in the tank so your home value and ability to get a refinance. So… wrong again.

You can literally invest every fiat dollar into bitcoin on @coinbase and borrow against it at 4% interest. Few.

If you’re still thinking of Bitcoin as a “trade,” you’re missing it. It’s not a trade. It’s a system upgrade. Every serious capital allocator I know is quietly figuring out their allocation. Most just aren’t saying it publicly yet.
