What is the upshot of the Platner tattoo discourse? Let's say I find his story fishy. I'm supposed to worry that this seemingly left-wing guy supported by all the left-wing people is secretly a Nazi just pretending to be a progressive populist?

@LinkofSunshine The term "data centers" is now confusing more than illuminating. NoVa has a lot of traditional data storage, cloud servers, etc. In 2019 a MAJORITY of Internet traffic globally passed thru Ashburn. Before that it was AOL hq. 😅 This isn't an "AI Warehouse" story - (1/2)

Wild: data centers are now responsible for nearly half of county tax revenue in Loudon County, VA @judgeglock city-journal.org/article/loudou…

NJ Transit wants to charge $150 to get to the World Cup. But there's a better way. A ferry at 125th Street would be an affordable option and create access for West Harlem that would last far beyond the World Cup. Launch the boats!

@shteivred Wait until they realize that NYC does not have to pay a single cent on the transportation because the NJ in NJTransit means New Jersey.

We inherited an agreement where FIFA is providing $0 for transportation to the World Cup. And while NJ TRANSIT is stuck with a $48 million bill to safely get fans to and from games, FIFA is making $11 billion. I’m not going to stick New Jersey commuters with that tab for years to come. FIFA should pay for the rides. But if they don’t – I’m not going to let New Jersey get taken for one.

New Jersey’s NJ Transit has this week discussed pricing for a return rail ticket close to or around $150 for a round-trip rail ticket from New York’s Pennsylvania Station to MetLife Stadium for FIFA World Cup games. The 18-mile rail journey, which includes a stop at Secaucus station, ordinarily costs $12.90 for a return ticket — the same pricing for the FIFA Club World Cup final last summer. New special event pricing, however, is due to come into effect for the World Cup and The Athletic reported earlier this week that the price modelling had forecast a price of over $100 per passenger. While NJ Transit ordinarily offers concessionary prices for seniors, children and disabled passengers, the World Cup pricing will be one blanket price for all categories.
