As I said yesterday, the 3rd pick has outperformed the 2nd pick from 1990-2022. Think Jazz really need to look at this to figure out why. Here's examples where each pick was better. What stands out?

@jackson_zumwalt @TuskedUp Yup, it’s basically impossible to have 2 plus defenders in the back court without big offensive limitations or eating your whole cap. You can hide one guard who gives effort, I think Keyonte showed enough fight this year to be optimistic

@TuskedUp Key is not an Elite playmaker and Darryn didn’t show that in college but I think you are 100% right and they are a match made in heaven. Probably the most dynamic back court in the league offensively and DP is a plus defender so help that w JJJ and Walk in the Back

Asking genuinely, why do some writers keep talking about Keyonte and Peterson as a bad fit together? What are the concerns there, cause to me it seems like a phenomenal fit?

Remember Jazz fans, fit doesn’t matter AT ALL with the No. 2 pick. Just pretend you don’t have any players on the roster, because ideally this pick is better than anyone already on the team. You hope they’re good enough to reformat your roster, that would be a huge win.

@rgiss11 As long as the creatine thing isn’t some sort of misdirection or white lie, yeah. I’m skeptical about him and key defensively together, I’d prefer to be bigger. But we can always trade key later. Boozer just feels like a can’t miss guy though.

Peterson had 5 dunks in the McDonalds All American game. He had 9 in 700 minutes all year. So clearly was affected by a (now totally manageable) high level of creatinine + creatine usage. Still put up the best BPM from a freshman guard since 2008 lol.

@ArtTakesNote I wouldn’t say it’s fit, I have him behind Wilson at 4. Best of the bunch in college but least built for the nba. Still solidly above other prospects with all-star potential

I’m surprised by how much (almost unanimous) support Darryn Peterson has over Cam Boozer amongst Jazz fans. I think people are letting fit sway their opinion on this way too much.

@SpencerKeele The talent available at 7 and 8 is high enough and a better fit with the current roster that dont see a reason to. Burries, Wagler, Fleming, Brown would all be great and potentially puts us in better spot than Cam does

@TuskedUp Imo there are only three positions in the nba. Guard, wing, and big. AJ is a wing. I don’t see any reason why it matters if we call him a SG or a SF.

Do we think AJ could really play as a SG in this lineup? Always thought he was more of a 3/4?

I don't think that Jazz fans fully understand the bad financial spot the Jazz are in. Because they keep mentioning trades they can't pull off unless they trade players that they clearly aren't trading.
