Scout’s “Harvester” (EREV) has given them some serous engineering problems that I believe could indefinitely delay their production.
Originally, Scout wanted to start with making electric vehicles and then introducing the EREV version later. Well, 87% of the early reservations were for the EREV version so they had no real choice other than to PIVOT.
This has caused delays in the platform coming to market that I believe will continue for some time. Many people love the idea of a longer range EV powered by gasoline that can be refueled quickly, but do not realize just how complex this drivetrain becomes. It’s not just making it work, there safety and EPA compliance to consider that makes things exponentially more difficult.
You’ve seen the same result with RAM’s EREV truck. They’ve been talking about it for years but it continues to encounter year after year of delays.
So, will we ever actually see Scout make production vehicles again? I fear there’s a good chance that we will not.

@MJTruthUltra I think the only way it gets overturned at this point is it goes into effect and then there’s a lawsuit over it and it goes through the Court system either stops at the higher courts or has to go all the way to the Supreme Court

The vehicle “kill switch” passed in Congress and signed into law by Joe Biden. Don’t just blame democrats… blame republicans as well.
Now Trump (or any president) can’t unilaterally “overturn” or repeal this because it’s a federal statute passed by Congress and signed into law. Presidents don’t have the power to repeal laws on their own—that requires new legislation from Congress…
Since then, there have been multiple attempts to repeal the Kill Switch 2027 Mandate, and it failed, because Republicans joined with Democrats.
