Almost always the Indian crowd on an International flight is 5x more uncivilized than on a domestic flight. People might expect some lack of civic sense on a blue-collar flight, often to Saudi/Singapore, but that’s coz it’s their very first flight. I can understand, But it’s the vacation-destination flights you will find the most uncouth assh*les, who would talk loudly, tease attendants. Misbehave for more alcohol. Even after they land, these are the people, who would talk loudly at public places, and display overall obnoxious behaviour. A couple was caught stealing food, and were laughing when they were caught. My last exp. It’s mostly coz such people come from a negative correlation of education & wealth. Not much education or corporate experience, yet have wealth due to rent-seeking businesses/inheritance. They behave the same in India, but they get away by throwing money at a problem. It solves it here. But not abroad. If you ever try to instil some sense in them, their gag reflex is to tell you how many showrooms they own & they can buy you out. Sometimes they say it overtly, and other times passively by wearing a thick gold chain & brands that scream in your face. All CAPS. Your worlds rarely collide in India, but they do when you are at the same luxury resort abroad. It’s the “Bharat shock” the India experiences abroad. :)

They want to fell 521 trees on Ganeshkhind Road. It’s a stupid X 3 decision and at the cost of over 521 old growth trees along Ganeshkhind Road. 45 metres from 36 metres will mean only 5 metres increase on either side. If the footpaths take away some space there is literally no lane left to accomodate any more vehicles. How is a 2 metre or a 2.5 road lane expansion justifying the massacre of so many ancient trees ? Diet Coke is suddenly everywhere in India. I see people around me drinking it like water. A lot of people treat it as a healthier option, even though it’s packed with artificial sweeteners. This doesn’t feel like real health awareness. It feels more like marketing, social media influence, and people just following each other. In startup circles, especially in Bangalore, Gurgaon etc it’s normal to see people having 8–10 cans a day just to get through work. Walk into any office and you’ll find stacks of cans lying around. This looks less like a health trend and more like a perception game.
