To make this proposal truly succeed post-upgrade, an embedded wallet in Akash Console needs to be prioritized ASAP. Now with simple "credits" on the platform -> including an in-console embedded wallet option would SOLVE onboarding friction for normal / non-crypto users and drive massive new deployments. It is THE way to use Akash and never have to touch crypto. Without easy UX like this, adoption stays limited to crypto natives. This needs to happen, it is the only way for BME upgrade to hit escape velocity on attracting wider usage.

The wait is over. The Burn-Mint Equilibrium (BME) proposal is going onchain for a vote today, with an upgrade scheduled for March 23rd at 14:00 UTC. BME restores direct utility to $AKT, anchoring token value to real network usage, where every $AKT used for deploying will be burnt. This upgrade also introduces WASM smart contracts to Akash - a foundational step that enables the Core Team to iterate and build faster without full chain coordination. it's really hard to mint / premine what's supposed to be "earned network activity", before any has taken place, and expect an optimistic long term outlook (a la any "unearned from the network" token supply). and de facto everything down stream of that dynamic is implicated, as you're mentioning in your article^. however, extremely rarely doable, you just need to get (buying + earn) > (selling + unearned). inversely, eg Bitcoin you earn BTC by mining. (Satoshis allocation hasn't sold 😅)
