FAA banned parallel landings permanently, will be bad for SFO (max landings drop from 54>36/hr) Given the topography of SFO, we have 2 parallel runways 750’ apart. There was an accident at DCA last year, now the FAA is mandating staggered approaches :(

@pitdesi @SecDuffy To say parallel approaches at SFO have had ‘no issues’ is a gross misunderstanding. The same goes for parallel take-offs at SFO. The ‘whole thing’ is based on an @NTSB_Newsroom recommendation. Let’s not put Safety over Efficiency. We need the ADS-B (IN) mandate in the ROTOR Act.

The whole thing is dumb tbh - the incident at DCA happened at night, between a jet and a military helicopter. We’ve been doing parallel landings for 60 years at SFO without issue. @SecDuffy said the DCA crash set the course for him to reform the FAA. Regulatory overreach IMO

Several drones operated by the cartels in Mexico breached American Airspace overnight near El Paso, with electronic-warfare measures being utilized by the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss to down the drones, resulting in this morning’s Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). “Mexican cartel drones breached U.S. airspace. The Dept. of War took action to disable the drones. The FAA and DOW have determined there is no threat to commercial travel,” an official with the White House told NewsNation.

@sentdefender @Nozarashi47 This has little logic since HEL/HPM is precise to the target & install near mil assets. There is a reason why mil airspace gives notice to go “hot” but DoD essentially converted a major metro area into a military operation ‘no-notice’ and no warning with civ aircraft operating.

@Nozarashi47 The electronic-warfare system that the U.S. Army used to down the drones likely hadn’t been used before across such a major metropolitan area, so the TFR was probably just a precaution to make it sure it didn’t inadvertently effect other flights over El Paso.
