In New York, USA🇺🇸 , I was awarded the Moonshot Award (Borderless), a recognition that means so much because of the people behind the work. This isn’t about me. It’s about the mother who crossed a border holding only her children’s books…the young people who keep choosing hope…and the families who rebuild their lives from almost nothing. Grateful to everyone who walks with us at @BetterLife_Int . This award is for them and because of them.

The climate crisis is a symptom of a broader system that prioritizes economic growth over human well-being and the environment. The fossil fuel industry's pursuit of profit has perpetuated social injustices, exacerbated plastic pollution, and driven climate change. Key facts: - The fossil fuel industry receives $5.3 trillion in subsidies annually, equivalent to 6.5% of global GDP (IMF). - Fossil fuel companies account for 71% of global greenhouse gas emissions. - Plastic production has increased exponentially, with millions of tons of plastic waste in oceans, landfills, and waterways. - The richest 1% of the global population emits more than twice the emissions of the poorest 50% (Oxfam). Climate change is not just an environmental issue, but a social justice issue. The poorest and most vulnerable communities, who have contributed the least to greenhouse gas emissions, are often the hardest hit by the effects of climate change, including rising sea levels, droughts, and extreme weather events. The fossil fuel industry's activities have had devastating impacts on human rights and social justice, including: - Displacement of indigenous communities to make way for oil pipelines. - Exploitation of workers in the oil fields. - Human rights abuses in over 50 countries (Amnesty International). To address this, we must: 1. End fossil fuel subsidies and invest in renewable energy and sustainable development. 2. Implement a carbon tax to internalize the environmental costs of fossil fuel production. 3. Promote sustainable development and human well-being over economic growth. 4. Support climate justice and human rights, particularly for vulnerable communities. A transition to renewable energy sources and sustainable development is necessary, recognizing the fossil fuel industry's pursuit of profit is incompatible with a sustainable future. Renewable energy is becoming increasingly cost-competitive with fossil fuels, with solar and wind energy prices dropping by 70% over the past decade (IRENA). @19jokersmoker96 @aacjinaction @ahengst @ahengst @akintomiwa18833 @alexatweme @AllisonJEdwards @HolisticSLP @andrew_mug69931 @AndreaTEdwards @AndrewEmor_ @AngelaWalkr @AniShahver14395 @annette_kezaabu @Arch_Twik @ArmstrongOngera @AtomicTruths_7 @AyebareDenise @DrKutney @enerlgoodluck @grannysidney @Kaamu_literati @Kaamu_literati @moreenayebaze @SaveYouthsUg @CJA_initiative @Dr_JibCares @EarthKeeper22 @FuturesWise @jagdishgojiya @JCNiklas @JosephMasembe1 @joze_opio @judithcallagha9 @RobertJTurykira @JusperMachogu @JosephRyarasa @ECOWARRIORSS @fridayfuturebd @Green_iwg @greenheronh @Greenpeaceafric @

I am happy to announce that @EUinUG is opening a Consulate General on Kalangala Islands to promote Ugandan pineapple exports. Ugandan pineapple is the best in the world - the EU must experience it! A dedicated airport is being built to ensure it arrives fresh in Brussels. 🇪🇺🍍🇺🇬

I had the privilege of attending the Resilience Rising research dissemination meeting convened by @prospectini and Finn Church Aid. Important to note how climate change and conflicts are shaping youth experiences in the Rwenzori sub region, and why youth voices must be central to policy and peacebuilding solutions. #ClimateAction #YouthLeadership #Peacebuilding

📍Yumbe District, Northern Uganda. At @BetterLife_Int, we are implementing a project focused on strengthening the capacity of refugee women and internally displaced persons through climate-smart agriculture. In a context where rainfall patterns are increasingly unreliable, we are supporting women with greenhouse farming, drip irrigation systems, and hands-on training in sustainable food production. The focus is practical ensuring that women have the tools, skills, and systems to produce consistently, even under changing climate conditions. #BetterLifeInternational #Yumbe #ClimateAction #FoodSecurity #RefugeeResponse

Spent the day at the International Criminal Court in The Hague contributing to the conversation on justice and accountability. I had the opportunity to speak and share an African perspective in a space where global narratives are often shaped. Because justice cannot be truly global if it does not reflect the lived realities, histories, and voices of those most affected.
