History offers lessons that nations ignore at their peril. In one Southern African country, the twilight of a presidency was symbolised by a lavish wedding linked to a family widely accused of state capture. What followed was political upheaval, a recall, and a commission of inquiry. In Zimbabwe, recent displays of opulence amid widespread hardship have reignited public debate about wealth, power, accountability and the relationship between business and the state. History does not repeat itself exactly, but it often rhymes. Wise nations pay attention to the warning signs. #DefendTheConstitution #Respect People

THE WEDDING THAT REVEALS… That ‘wedding’ guest list is not merely a list of invitees; it is a roll call of the few who continue to plunder the nation’s wealth and resources for their own benefit. The obscene display of looted wealth stinks to high heaven. It stands in painful contrast to the widespread poverty endured by us ordinary citizens.:.seen in collapsing healthcare, a struggling education system, eroded savings and pensions, paltry salaries, and decaying infrastructure. At a time when millions are suffering, such extravagance exposes the deep inequality and moral decay at the heart of our society. This should serve as a wake-up call for all of us to say: enough is enough. We must stop this nonsense #CAB3 and demand a new leadership with a citizens mandate that serves the all rather than a privileged few. State capture is the worst form of treason! #WeTheCitizens

@PacheduZW Even if they deny the leaked voice note, the reality raises serious questions. When an entire cabinet attends a lavish wedding with expensive gifts, it gives context that can’t be easily ignored. Accountability demands scrutiny, not dismissal.

@SOneblow You still believe that audio? It is completely fake. People like Rutendo Matinyarare know exactly who is behind the creation of those manufactured narratives. This is entirely driven by their own agenda, but it will not succeed.

Comrade Bombshell Geza fought CAB3 knowing that his health was failing and he had a short time in this realm. He repeatedly said, “ I am at the twilight of my life. I am doing this for you.” Yet he was ignored. Opposition leaders spread lies that Geza was working for Kasukuwere. They discouraged people from supporting him, and we are here today listening to scary audios while watching CAB3 turn into LAW. I hope you are happy now? 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🥹😭💔

What was presented as a private celebration has become a public indictment. The guest list at that “wedding” reads less like an invitation and more like a roll call of the small Cartel that continues to plunder our nation’s wealth for private enrichment. The ostentatious display of ill‑gotten riches is not merely distasteful it is a moral offense against a people who bear the cost. That extravagant spectacle sits in painful contrast to the lived reality of ordinary Zimbabweans a health system on the verge of collapse, an education sector struggling to survive, depleted savings and pensions, meagre wages, and infrastructure crumbling under neglect. While millions endure hardship and sacrifice, a privileged few parade their impunity and entitlement. This is not inequality alone it is the corrosion of the public trust and the degradation of our civic life. Mnangagwa and his Zvigananda must go, as their leadership has enabled the capture and corruption that have impoverished our people. This moment must serve as a clarion call. Enough is enough. We must resist state capture in all its guises, expose the networks that enable theft and impunity, and demand leadership renewed by a genuine citizens’ mandate. Allowing the continued capture of our institutions is the gravest form of betrayal it is treason against the public good. We call on conscientious citizens, civic organisations and the international community to stand with us in restoring accountability, transparency, and dignity to our national project. The future of Zimbabwe belongs to its Zimbabweas, not to Cartels who enrich themselves at the nation’s expense. Retired Lieutenant General Winston Sigauke Mapuranga.

Do y'all also have a family member who buys their kid their own takeaways whilst knowing that there's also another kid in the house ? My aunt is like that whenever she orders or decides to buy her 4 year old daughter a KFC or McDonald's meal she'll only buy for her daughter while she knows my son also is around when she does that I just take my son and go for a walk and come back after a while that's annoys me so much because she knows I'm not working, I've been job hunting with no luck . Today she came back with KFC for herself and her daughter, I just called my son to the room and you know how kids are , he started crying that he also wants it , I told him I'll buy it tomorrow , she said to her daughter" just give him a little piece ..." I said no it's fine he just finished eating" because she did it on purpose.

🚩🚩 They bought you to agree with CAB3! Meanwhile, they exchange hefty gifts among themselves while the people of Zimbabwe lack basic needs in hospitals, schools, and other vital institutions. Doesn’t it shock you that these government aligned or officials have such amounts in cash? Are we really living in the same country? #2030Musipo

🟦#SolidarityFriday | WELEAD Africa📌 Today, we stand in unwavering solidarity with fellow young men who are unjustly behind bars. At WELEAD Africa, we believe in the power of unity and justice. We call on all to remember: 1️⃣Takunda Mhuka, 2️⃣Emmanuel Sitima, 3️⃣ Liberty Hamauswa, 4️⃣Dylan Chisemwa, 5️⃣Takunda Mareverwa, and 6️⃣Richard Nyamande, young leaders whose rights to bail have been repeatedly denied. Prolonged bail rulings and the continued detention of young people are unacceptable and undermine our collective pursuit of justice. Young Africans are active citizens and agents of development, not prisoners of injustice. We demand fair treatment, bail, and the immediate release of all young people unjustly detained. Justice for young people is justice for our future. Together, let’s continue to advocate for a Zimbabwe and Africa where youth rights are respected, and justice prevails. #WeLeadAfrica #JusticeForYouth #SolidarityInAction #YouthJusticeNow @FrontLineHRD @NicolaWatson13 @DanaiDChirawu @DougColtart @bbmhlanga @NAYOZimbabwe @YetTrust @youth_invest @tafireitakaedza @GlenDhliwayo @glanyline @BorisCde @johncollinsZW @africaIYP @AUEUYouthLab @euinzim @Hazvie97 @GodsFlower_ @Che_Guevara_ZW @ngadziore @MalemaZw @LenonMount @ropamakumire @MakomboreroH @marko_muropa @namataik_ @Milton63761825 @DYarai07 @tapiwa_chiriga @Mkhokhelee @iamTSUNGA @ercafrica @nangozimbabwe @Zinasuzim @eva_tarie @ZimRightsLIVE @PhilFungurai @amnesty_zim @advora_1

At just 24 years old, Philani Dladla was sitting on the side of a Johannesburg road with a pile of secondhand books beside him. But unlike most people struggling to survive on the streets, he wasn’t asking strangers for money. Instead, he spent his days reading every book he could get his hands on, then offering honest reviews to people passing by. If someone enjoyed the review, they could buy the book from him. People soon began stopping not out of pity, but because they were inspired by his intelligence, passion, and love for literature. His knowledge and storytelling earned him the nickname “The Pavement Bookworm.” Philani had grown up facing poverty, homelessness, and addiction, and books became the thing that helped him rebuild his life. What began as a small roadside book-selling idea slowly turned into something much bigger. Over the years, he launched community reading programs and book clubs aimed at helping young people escape poverty through education and self-development. His journey eventually gained international attention. He became a published author, gave TEDx talks, appeared in interviews around the world, and traveled to motivate others with his story of resilience and transformation.

It is remarkable to hear strong statements now when there has been near-total silence throughout much of the #CA3 debate. If the issue was truly constitutional principle, where was the leadership during the public consultations, legal arguments and parliamentary discussions? Many Zimbabweans expected a clear position long ago. You have strategically shown inconsistencies and strategic ambiguity weakening confidence in opposition leadership, particularly when citizens are looking for direction on major national issues. You cannot claim to be leading a movement while remaining absent from one of the most significant constitutional debates in recent years. You are fake.
