In rare public remarks, CIA Director John Ratcliffe announces trio of internal changes he says amounts to the "fundamental reshaping of the CIA’s entire approach to technology." Also says it's not "misplaced" to refer to frontier AI as "akin to digital nuclear weapons."

The most powerful AI companies aren’t waiting for Washington to catch up. They’re racing ahead developing even more powerful models, and the risks are growing with them. We waited too long to take on social media companies, and our children are still paying the price. We can’t repeat that mistake with AI.

As I outlined in my report on AI’s impact on American jobs, which found that over 54,000 jobs were lost in 2025 with AI cited as a factor, Congress must do better to understand how AI is affecting workers. I am introducing the AI Workforce Study Act of 2026 with @RepCasar to direct the @USGAO to study the number of job losses due to AI, limitations of existing data collection methods and more.

The trump admin has let the AI industry run wild. We need to ensure that advanced AI models can't harm Americans.

The capabilities of advanced AI models are increasing by the day, and so are the risks of AI systems gaining the ability to self-improve, evade human oversight, and enabling attacks against our nation’s infrastructure. We need mechanisms to identify these risks early so that leaders can respond quickly before incidents become bigger threats. We applaud @RepNateMoran for his leadership on this urgent issue, and encourage his colleagues in the House to join him. moran.house.gov/news/documents…

Top strategist @Rob_Flaherty is trying to sound the alarm about the "generational opportunity" for Dems to build a new coalition around AI regulation. He calls it a "slam-dunk, no brainer" for Dems. And he thinks 2028 will be the AI "Super Bowl" charlottealter.substack.com/p/the-2028-ele…
