A cautionary tale about @urbancompany_uc and how a publicly listed company handles damage claims. Booked their technician (Sanju Kumar) to install a Luminous inverter at my home in Bangalore. Routine job. Should've been 2 hours. Invoice no: UCIC260004101947 Complaint no: 69f362690db9530026fe28d7 Instead of a standard install, he opened the main switchboard and worked with MAINS LIVE violating the most basic electrical safety rule. Phase-neutral cross-connection caused a ~280V surge through my home wiring. Within minutes: • Geyser circuit dead - Approximation given is around 12,000 to fix • 55" Smart TV motherboard fried, panel and screen damaged - looking at full loss ( Rs 48,000) • Apple TV completely destroyed (₹14,900 replacement) • Home electrical wiring compromised (Assessing currently) The moment Sanju Kumar realized he'd damaged the geyser, he packed up and LEFT mid-job. Inverter still uninstalled. No fix. No apology. No accountability. Had to hire a different electrician the next day to fix the wiring he broke out of my own pocket. Filed formal complaint with UC. Specifically requested a SENIOR technician for independent damage assessment. UC's response? They sent SANJU KUMAR BACK. The same person who caused the damage. To "take photos" of his own work and walk away. He showed up, photographed the damage he caused, left without resolution. No claims process opened. No callback. When we asked UC for a complaint ID, it took multiple follow-ups and a manual download of a tax invoice to extract any documentation. They were not proactive in issuing one almost as if to avoid creating a paper trail. 3 sleepless nights. ₹40,000+ in documented damages. Complete radio silence from UC corporate after that. @urbancompany_uc @abhirajbhal @raghavchandra @varunkhaitan — your company is publicly listed now. Retail and institutional shareholders are watching how customer grievances are handled. Is THIS the customer experience model investors signed up for? 1. Technician violates basic electrical safety 2. Damages multiple appliances and home wiring 3. Walks off mid-job when he realizes his mistake 4. Same technician sent back to "investigate" his own damage 5. Customer chases for documentation that should've been auto-generated 6. Then gets ghosted Listed companies are held to a higher standard of corporate governance, customer protection, and grievance redressal. SEBI compliance and investor disclosures aren't just about quarterly numbers they extend to how the brand treats its customers. This isn't how a publicly listed company should operate. Asking for: 1. Independent senior technician (not Sanju Kumar) to assess damage 2. Compensation for documented damages: ₹90,000+ 3. Formal acknowledgment of complaint 69f362690db9530026fe28d7 4. Process review — no customer should have to extract their own complaint ID 5. Public clarification on UC's damage claims SOP Have all invoices, technician's diagnosis report confirming overvoltage cause, photos, timestamps, and WhatsApp records. please be careful. If a clearly documented case is handled this way, imagine the cases without paper trails. Consumer forum filing prepared if there's no response in 48 hours.

भोरच्या घटनेतल्या नराधम आरोपीचे नाव ’भीमराव कांबळे’ असल्यामुळे शाफुआंच्या पुरोगामी वगैरे महाराष्ट्रात त्याचा एन्काऊंटर वगैरे काहीही होणार नाही, उलट काही महिन्यांच्या तुरुंगवासानंतर महान भारतीय न्यायव्यवस्थेच्या आणि आपल्या ग्रेट संविधानाच्या कृपेने तो जामिनावर सुटून येईल आणि पुढचा बळी शोधायला लागेल. कटू बोलतेय, पण सत्य आहे. हा जो आरोपी आहे तो म्हणे ह्या आधी ह्याच प्रकारच्या गुन्ह्यात दोन वेळा पकडला गेला होता, तरीही त्याला जामीन मिळाला, जो कोणीतरी दिला. त्या चार वर्षांच्या लेकराला अश्या वेदना देताना, दगडाने ठेचून तिची हत्या करताना त्याला काहीही वाटलं नाही. अश्या नराधमाला का ठेवायचं तुरुंगात करदात्याच्या पैशावर जिवंत? त्याला खरं तर जमावाच्याच ताब्यात द्यायला पाहिजे पोलिसांनी. अर्थातच तसं होणार नाही. महाराष्ट्राचे पोलीस दोन निष्पाप हिंदू साधूंना खुनी जमावाच्या ताब्यात देऊ शकतात पण भीमराव कांबळीला मात्र पोलीस संरक्षणात न्यायालयात आणले जाईल. तो मानसिक रुग्ण आहे, त्याच्या विकृतीला तो जबाबदार नाही असे युक्तिवाद केले जातील, आणि काही महिन्यांनी तो जामिनावर सुटून परत मोकाट फिरू लागेल. संताप, हतबलता, उद्वेग ह्या भावनांनी फुटून जाण्याशिवाय आपल्या हातात काहीही नाही. हे लिहीतानासुद्धा माझा संताप संताप होतोय. Indian muslims were the first to sense that the sangh coming to power would be a disaster for the country. It was ignored and put aside as just religious dissonance. But it was much more than that. It was amply clear that replication of the Gujarat model across the country would damage the very core. Minorities could see it because they had experienced it in one state. And were not afraid to say it. A huge price has been paid by them over the last one decade for this. Now, the decay has touched almost every life. And unfortunately, it's too late to wake up. There is one news story that I will never forget in this lifetime. It is about a man named Avijit Sarkar. He was the first person to be killed by the TMC after winning the 2021 West Bengal Vidhan Sabha election. Minutes before his gruesome murder, Avijit Sarkar took to Facebook to narrate that he had been surrounded by a mob of TMC workers. He did not know what was written in his destiny on that fateful night. Look at the date - 2nd May 2021. This was the last time Avijit posted on Facebook. In the following weeks, TMC workers killed a dozen more people as part of a coordinated wave of political violence. But the story of Avijit Sarkar never left my mind. Avijit was holding a puppy in his hand and narrating his ordeal. At that point, he did not know that he would be killed. I was tasked to translate his dying testimony from Bangla to English so that non-Bengalis can know his story. Bangla is my mother tongue, and every word he spoke captivated the anxiety that a man experiences when his life is in danger. While writing the news report, I broke down several times because I knew what happened after the video ended. It was a traumatic experience. Death has always been a triggering subject for me. The fact that I was new to this industry and that I was already suffering from mental health issues made it worse. It has been 5 years since that incident. Tears have dried up, but not the rage that continues to stir inside me. This is why I have taken a pledge. As long as I am alive, I will make sure that the story of Avijit lives on. I will leave you with something I wrote in my diary back then - "Ek din bichar hobe. Ek din sasti hobe, adalat e na hole rastai" ( One day, there will be justice. One day, the perpetrators will be punished, either in court or on the road).

Regardless of party affiliation, Mamata didi deserves a standing ovation for being a FIGHTER. She has fought for every single vote until the very end of the election day. She has fought to preserve her people’s right to vote and remain on the electoral rolls. She has fought the Supreme Court judges that enabled a cruel, mass disenfranchisement process. She fought off political attacks from Delhi, including being addressed as “Ei Mamata” after the earlier “O didi” catcalling. And THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, never ONCE did she give a pass to her personal dignity and the dignity of the constitutional office she holds.
