I was a BIG advocate for the DNC releasing the 2024 autopsy. Having now read it, I can see now why there was so much resistance within some corners of the party to releasing it. It is an utter disaster. And a failure on virtually every front.

@Notwokenow I think Massie already had other plans. He never seemed to really want to get re-elected. There seems to be a coalition of outcasts and antisemites trying to form something behind the scenes. Possibly a New Democrat party.

Holding the Senate is so critical for Republicans because it is impossible to imagine Democrats confirming any of Trump's nominees. But now, with Cassidy and Cornyn, the president has made things harder for himself without actually losing the Senate.

Justices frequently do announce proposed retirements with conditions. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, for example, announced her retirement in 2005 on the condition that it would become effective upon the nomination and confirmation of her successor. I suspect that a justice could also condition the retirement on confirmation of a successor within a time certain…an “exploding offer” of sorts. Lots of great circuit court justices could gain every GOP vote though some judges surely would not. A compelling background and a record of excellent decisions should be sufficient even for Republicans angry with President Trump for whatever reason.

I wish President Trump would conserve his energy and stop going after conservatives like Congressman Thomas Massie, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, and former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. He should direct that focus instead toward the RINOs who are obstructing the Save Act and refusing to confirm his nominations. Those are the ones actually derailing his agenda.
