@Luke85270738 @shefska Maybe so, but doesn’t matter. People believe what they want to believe. And a lot of people don’t want hybrids.

@MattBMartin First statin was approved in 1987. Not the 1970’s. Doesn’t mean they don’t help. But, get your facts straight.
English

I don’t know who needs to hear this but deaths from heart disease have fallen >50% since statins were introduced in the 1970s.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the mass prescribing of statins has not brought down rates of heart disease In fact, they are higher than they have ever been— and most people being admitted to hospital with heart issues are already on statins Ask more questions, folks!

@toad1876 @LucasFlywalker @ObeevWanKenobi It’s correct. Tips are based on the original amount before any discounts or coupons. And the original amount was $69.95.

@LucasFlywalker @ObeevWanKenobi Pull out your calculator and run the numbers yourself. Lol

@cloudsec9 @morpheusxtb @brandenflasch Exactly. I was hoping (by comparing it to California) that people would realize that there are downstream effects of this ridiculous property tax debate.
English

@emcgregor97 @morpheusxtb @brandenflasch California's system is awful; it's encouraging people NOT to move, since their tax rates are grandfathered in.
So the newest owners end up footing most of the tax bills; who are often the youngest and least able to afford it.
English

Thinking that only having property taxes on mortgaged properties is reasonable is nuts
Ashley Schendel@ashleyschendel
A paid off house should actually feel paid off. When the average property tax bill is $4,427 and keeps climbing even if you didn’t sell, refinance, or magically get richer, it’s not hard to see why people feel like they never fully own the place they worked for.
English

@morpheusxtb @brandenflasch So, be like California. Property taxes there are based on purchase price and are capped at a 2% increase per year.
English

@brandenflasch The problem with property taxes isn’t the taxes itself, it’s the you bought a small modest home in let’s say 2011 for 150,000 you haven’t done anything other than maintain it. 2026 now worth 330,000 your taxes are more than double even if there weren’t additional tax increases.
English

@LaffyTaffy0112 @CheyCab They already don’t pay income taxes on the first ~$15k of earned income.
English

@CheyCab One policy idea I like. 15-19 year olds shouldn’t pay taxes. Encourage them to work and experience the workplace.
English

@Texas_Made67 @dwilliams45acp Move to California where property taxes are based on purchase price of property. Increases are capped at 2% a year I believe.
English

@dwilliams45acp Property tax and hazard insurance need an overhaul.

@RetroCardSnaps @Topps Best is 84, though my favorite (because of nostalgia) is 86.

I just paid $5.62 for one large French Fry @McDonalds in Shoreview.
NOT lovin’ it.
English

@indexnforgetit @unmeltablecheez It takes a fairly sophisticated scan tool to code the battery to the BMS.
English

@unmeltablecheez Nah he said it's a VW Tiguan... they're right under the hood and can be changed by a monkey in about 10 minutes
English

My boomer take is things like this are expensive because men like this won't take 15 minutes to install their own $150 battery

Battery died in my car. Called a mobile repair business. This is what they quoted me for replacement. What do you guys think?
English

@MikeCalcara Assuming the current MY is still being manufactured (not sure when the 2027s start), I’d ask for half the deposit and to be put in a loaner.
English

@emcgregor97 Small deposit, no trade cause his current car was totaled… he was walking to work and ubering…

One of Stephen Curry’s most iconic rookie cards is up for auction and ending this week.
From the 2009-10 Topps release, the only chrome parallels were the Chrome Refractor (/500), Gold Refractor (/50) and Superfractor (1/1).
With the current bid of $288,000 (with buyers premium included), what do you think it will end up selling for?
