The Security Council convened this afternoon to discuss the 41st Report of the @ICC Prosecutor on the situation in #Darfur. PR of 🇬🇷, Amb. @evasekeris: ↪️ highlighted the commitment of the Office of the Prosecutor to meet the expectations of the victims regarding past crimes, including crimes committed since 2023 in West Darfur, and in particular gender-based crimes ↪️ underscored that the cooperation of the Government of Sudan is essential in the cases that the ICC is examining ↪️ underlined Greece’s support for the work of the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC with regards to Darfur. The Security Council discussed this morning the situation in Yemen. PR of 🇬🇷, Amb. @evasekeris: ↘️ condemned in the strongest possible terms the recent blatant Houthi attacks against the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned commercial vessels M/V Magic Seas and Eternity C, in the Red Sea region ↘️ called for the immediate and unconditional cessation of Houthis’ violence against the lives of seafarers and international shipping ↘️ stressed that the European Naval Operation ASPIDES immediately coordinated the mobilization of all available means in the region to offer assistance to the attacked crew members ↘️ reiterated Greece’s steadfast commitment to the protection of navigational rights and freedoms in the Red Sea.
