The Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) military offensive against El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, has decreased in intensity over the past two days. However, local residents continue to endure a severe drinking water crisis and skyrocketing commodity prices. Sources report that the RSF reduced its presence around the city after pulling military groups toward the northwestern Darfur axis to counter an advancing joint force allied with the Sudanese army. On Monday, the Sudanese army reported that its ground defences had successfully shot down an RSF FH-95 strategic drone northwest of El Obeid. Despite the easing of clashes, El Obeid’s water crisis remains acute. Humanitarian organisations and government agencies have installed hand pumps and distributed water via tanker trucks, but the crisis cannot be fully resolved until the power grid stabilises and the main water stations, which were damaged by prior drone strikes, are completely rehabilitated.

The RSF has knocked out key water infrastructure in Sudan's El Obeid through drone strikes and blockades, cutting off 70% of the city's water supply. We just heard on Newsday from Duaa Tariq from the Emergency Response Rooms in Khartoum - she has travelled to the besieged city of El Obeid. She tells us schools are still open - but food and water is scarce, and prices are three times what they were. #KeepEyesOnSudan

UPDATE: Al Merrikh have been crowned champions of the Sudanese Premier League after the Sudanese Football Association stripped Al Hilal of the league title for fielding more foreign players than permitted in the Omdurman derby. Under Sudanese league regulations, each team is allowed to field a maximum of five foreign players in a match. Contrary, Al Hilal fielded eight during their 1-0 victory over Al Merrikh in the derby. As a result, the match was awarded to Al Merrikh by a 2-0 scoreline, lifting them to the top of the table with 21 points, three clear of Al Hilal, and securing the league title, their 36th overall.

Any official agreement would be formally announced. Meanwhile, public comments, speculation, or alleged documents showing agreement or 'settled' issues are neither official nor helpful. Our focus remains on facilitating serious, constructive engagement and dialogue that can deliver a humanitarian truce and a plan for a comprehensive and lasting peace and political transition in Sudan.
