The bridge near Samrat Garden Road off Solapur Road, intended to connect Solapur Road with Magarpatta Phase 2, remains incomplete due to ongoing land acquisition hurdles—echoing Pune’s recurring “bridge to nowhere” problem seen since 2019. In another case, a bridge over the Mula River lies unusable because land on the Balewadi side was never acquired. Such delays continue to force long detours and increase travel time for commuters. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is now auditing key infrastructure projects, including the Sadhu Vaswani flyover and flyovers at Shastrinagar and Vishrantwadi, in an effort to resolve these bottlenecks. However, progress is hampered by developers failing to hand over land, leaving critical road links incomplete. To address the situation, PMC plans to conduct bi-monthly review meetings, including on-site inspections, and has urged contractors to expedite work ahead of the monsoon to minimize traffic disruptions.
