Discussed with UN envoy Jean Arnault Middle East situation in the light of the war on Iran and its repercussions. Oman reaffirms support for the ceasefire and a permanent end of all hostilities through the region. I echo SG @antonioguterres call for 1) resumption of talks, 2) ceasfire to absolutely be preserved, 3) full respect of the freedom of navigation, including in the Strait of Hormuz. And we can’t delay the operationalisation of a confidence building @UN Mechanism - focused on fertilizers and related raw material - to prevent massive food insecurity for millions of vulnerable people around the world.
