The Oxford Road floating bus stops in Manchester are still not working. Time to rethink the design and allow all pedestrians to board and alight the bus without having to cross a cycle lane. As recommended by the British Standard 8300-1:2018.

@w9maidavale @CityWestminster Excluding people who need to get there by bus, black cab etc is not on. Oxford Street needs to be accessible for all & pedestrianisation will not achieve this. Businesses need customers & customers need to get to businesses. The purple pound is an integral part of the economy.

Less than a week before the government issued floating bus stop guidance in January, @TfL and @MayorofLondon published a botched report giving the go ahead to a hugely problematic floating bus stop on Shoreditch High Street without any equalities assessment. Blind people will be excluded from their bus services.
