I disagree. These drones can potentially penetrate enemy territory and conduct precision air-to-ground strikes ($55k for a missile is very cheap). They are primarily offensive weapons, not just defensive ones (if they were to be used for defense then obviously it would only target high value drone and not FPVs). Directed-energy weapons require massive power sources, which makes them impractical to mount on drones for (offensive) operations.

If the missiles are not both: - extremely efficient at killing other drones - not very expensive It can defeat the purpose of this system unless it is reusable, rearmed, and returned to the fight quickly. A balance between cost and effectiveness must exist in future drone-on-drone systems, or they defeat the purpose of their existence.
